> 3 dayThe umbrella is pretty, and the mechanism to open and close have worked well so far. I can only assume that it is cutting the UV rays out as it states.

> 3 dayYou can really feel the difference under the umbrella during the sunny days. Unlike other umbrellas that can magnify the heat under the cover, with this one you can really feel that there is less heat and the UV protection is great. BUT this is NOT A WIND RESISTANT umbrella. Just a little gust of wind will flip this upside down. However, I bought this for the sun protection it offers so I am happy and bought another one when it went on sale.

> 3 dayI have been using a Coolibar umbrella for years. My hair is thinning on top and this keeps the sun off my head without the need for a hat. No hat hair! I bought this one to replace one that got lost. No sunburn. Keeps me cooler in the heat. This is a one person umbrella, although two can use it. You just wont get full sun or rain protection.

> 3 dayWorks for the sun but it is very flimsy when it’s even just kind of windy. Should cost less for sure ! Definitely just for one person, not big enough for 2 people

Greater than one weekBought this umbrella Oct 2012 for month-long India trip and used daily. Hate sunblock and can get away with less because this provides so much protection. Seems to lower outside temp by 10-15 degrees, so not only protected but also lot cooler. Taken it on multiple international trips since and, in fact, currently on 10-day Jordan trip (Dead Sea today) and lifesaver yet again, given constant sun/heat. But this has been my go-to umbrella since purchase. Live in New England and have used it for rain, snow, sleet, sun. Its beginning to show some wear/tear, partly because of the nature of the silver coating and also Im not careful with it at all. Rarely use protective cover, as I should. Im giving it 4 star, but 4.5 if I could, but not 5 stars because it isnt perfect. A bit heavy and does turn inside out in high winds, but I can live with both minuses. When this one wears out, will buy another and try to protect it more.

> 3 dayI received this umbrella in April but delayed writing a review until Ive actually used it. Its been really hot lately but its cool under this umbrella unlike the ones without UPF. Unfortunately 2 ribs have broken off & poked a hole in the material. I contacted Coolibar & they will send me a replacement. Its on back order until 8/15/13 but Ill wait - its worth waiting for.

> 3 daySo Ive been using UV- umbrellas since 2007 and this is definitely a great sun umbrella. I took two of these to Spain and Portugal in the middle of the 2019 summer heat wave (90-103 F anywhere we went) and because of these, we were able to enjoy what we were seeing without dying of heat exhaustion. In Portugal, my brother in law and sister made fun of me for using it....until they got under it and felt the difference in temperature. After that, it was more whered you get that again?? So yes, definitely provides great protection. My only issue that one of the umbrellas already has a few worn spots/holes after two weeks of use.
