Tubes are VERY tiny, but I expected that. Paint is so gorgeous love the colors and can mix lots of different ones with just this set. Good practice and my fave brand of watercolor so far.

I am just advancing from student grade watercolors to Daniel Smith and wow, I am impressed. I wanted to try the Primatek colors without spending a lot of $$. This little set is a great introduction.

This Daniel Smith set is perfect for a limited palette as I learn to mix my own colors. It contains a warm and a cool red, warm and cool yellow and warm and cool blue. I added a couple other colors like a green for convenience but didn’t really need to. I squeezed these into a 3D printed sectioned insert I found on Etsy that fits into an Altoids tin, added a travel brush and I have a travel watercolor set. My only complaint is the size of the tubes, 5 ml. Those are colors I will want again. It was enough to share with someone else doing the same kit, though.

I love the quality of Daniel Smith Watercolour paints! This is a great introductory set and just makes me want to add to my collection.

The pigments are so rich, they bring the artist within you. A pleasure to paint. Just gorgeous. They’re pricey but worth the money.
