> 3 dayGreat pencils. Pigment is smooth and opaque. Will be a go to pencil for me. If only they came in larger sets (hint hints Derwent!)

> 3 dayThese drawing pencils are wonderful. I use them in my coloring books. The colors are great and I love the choice of colors. Just to bad they are just 24 colors.

> 3 dayVery creamy but still holds just enough point to get some detail. The colors are great for autumn landscapes. A very enjoyable set.

> 3 dayI have only ever used Derwents inktense pencils, blocks, and watercolor pencils, so when I saw these lovely pencils in greys, neutrals, and browns, I purchased them. I purchased these pencils for a series of drawings of small, local wildlife, including squirrels, pigeons, and raccoons. I think that they will work out wonderfully. The colors are basically greys and browns, in subtle and beautiful, soft shades. The blue and green color names are really descriptors for different grey shades. The lighter shades seem to be very opaque and the pencils seem very buttery. I am really looking forward to using these although I suspect I will be doing a great deal of sharpening. With some added vivid/deeper colors, these pencils would be wonderful for Northern landscapes or seascapes. Great product, Derwent!

> 3 dayIve been drawing for about a year now, and have worked my way through a lot of media to figure out what I like working with. Recently Ive starting using FC Polychromos colored pencils, which (as pretty much anyone will tell you) are amazing. My only real beef with them is that the color range tends towards a lot of high-chroma colors--meaning that (so far as I know, anyway) if youre going for a natural or muted look you end up spending more time and material greying/toning down. These pencils work well as an adjunct to the Polychromos line. The colors are all soft and muted, and theyre so smooth and creamy that Ive been using them basically like a colored blender: I can lay down more vivid and defined color with the FCs, and then soften and blend with these. I cant tell if theyre all wax or an oil/wax blend, but they almost feel like a pencil version of a firm oil pastel (see, eg, Caran Dache Neocolor I). Anyway, highly recommended. Probably would work similarly well with Derwents other wax-based lines like Coloursoft. And Amazon sells the set for half of what they go for at Blick.

Greater than one weekExcellent art ligne art product with wax base, very creamy and opaque covering any paper quality! Very easy to be used with PRISMACOLOR premier and Caran d’Ache colour pencils which are all wax base products. Surprisingly good effects with oil pastels!
