The best pencils I have come across. They are very creamy and blend very well. I really love these pencils.

Bought these by a recommendation of an artist on YouTube. Very nice and smooth.

I just ordered chinese white to try the pencil, see how it works with my Faber Castell Polychromos, and if I could get the opaque white I needed that regular colored pencils dont provide. But, not something that will wipe out the color underneath, just stronger then regular colored pencils white. It was perfect. It did exactly as I needed as plays quite nice with my polys. It blends in but, is stronger and more opaque. It blends in nicely, as well. I am so impressed I am going to order the full set with hopes of Derwent expanding the colors someday.

I haven’t used them much yet. All I had were watercolor pencils, so I wanted this set. The metal container of pencils was sitting on the bottom of the box with another item I had ordered. I’m concerned that the lead within the pencil might be broken. Guess I’ll find out.

Missing tin lid and zero padding in box. I fear the pencils are damaged but can’t return as I am on a project deadline. For an expensive item I expect a little more care. Not happy.

I didnt like these pencils at first because they kept breaking when I sharpened them. I usually dont have that problem with Derwent. But I realized that I was using a Prismacolor pencil sharpener to sharpen them. When I happened to use a tiny Derwent sharpener that I had lying around, the pencils sharpened without breaking. The colors are rich, but subtle, and they blend beautifully.

I had watched a “Claudia Sketches” Youtube video, and she uses these as the base layer for her animal portraits because they go down so easily and blend so well. So I bought some. She was right. The set of 12 was fine for me because I am a portrait artist and do not need a lot of colors — Definitely a good purchase.
