> 3 dayI melted my first one in a burn pile inadvertently, and it still shined bright. This is my favorite flashlight by far.

Greater than one weekFor those of you who already know about Dewalt, I am wasting my time. For those who don’t, this light is more expensive than the competition because it is not in the same league with any of its competition. Fantastic light, battery, company, and on and on.

> 3 dayGot this to replace an old craftsman set of cordless tools. The light works as expected, produces a mediocre combination of lumens and battery life (battery dependent) with a fairly narrow beam. I like that the head is adjustable/pivots to various angles, but was surprised to find each stop felt a bit loose and had a lot more play than I would expect when shelling out the extra cash for a Dewalt product. Admittedly it doesnt affect the function but just feels a little cheap, and I wonder if it will be able to hold all 11 detent positions long term. This works well as a focused work light but I would often take my old craftsman camping which worked great as a floodlight to illuminate much of the campsite/path. This light has adjustability but lacks versatility and could easily be replaced by a small maglight with 2-3x the lumen output for this purpose.

> 3 dayKeep in mind that when you are finished, you have $100+ flashlight. You need the light AND a battery And a charger sold separately. I have the new DeWalt tools with the brushless motors that use these new batteries, which are 4 amp. These tools generally come with two of these batteries. I also bought two extra. So, it is an expensive light, but it is bright. There are cautions about looking directly into the LED (Light Emiting Diode). Believe it and do not look directly into the light - you risk retina damage. The head tilts (a little too easily for me) and there is a hanger. The light is not heavy and the over-molded grip makes it comfortable to use. It has a three year warranty as do the batteries. Keep in mind, that if you buy the light and battery, you will need a charger. This is not a problem for me as I have the other tools that use these batteries and they all come with chargers. Kind of a long way of recommending this light is only if you have the new DeWalt tools that use this battery. If you do, the light is an excellent value. If you dont, well read my first sentence again and then decide.
