> 24 hourI have owned Dragon NaturallySpeaking since version 3, and have always appreciated the excellent improvements. My experience with Version 11 is that it is a significant downgrade from the quality I have been used to. The software crashes frequently and I have to exit and reload to continue. Ive tried reinstalling, but that does not help. In addition, simple things are quite annoying like if I place my cursor at the beginning of a sentence, it does not capitalize automatically. It also does not add spaces automatically. Dragon NaturallySpeaking never used to do this with the previous Version 9 and 10 that Ive owned. On the more positive side, the accuracy is excellent, and Ive experienced that with previous versions. In my view, definitely not worth upgrading unless theres other applications or improvements that suit ones needs, of which Im unaware.

> 24 hourUnfortunately I am unable to use a keyboard effectively and so I depend on DragonDictate to help me in my business. I have been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking since version 3. Version 11 is without a doubt the worst experience Ive ever had with Dragon software. I cant scroll e-mail, it does not seem to learn easily, many of the commands that used to be simple malfunction like spell that, choose one it will not stay asleep and many other issues exist. I can only guess that its because of my upgrade to Windows 7 and 64-bit technology. Having said all this, I could not succeed without NaturallySpeaking, but they have really made it so much more difficult in this version for me.

> 24 hourI bought this only to transcribe taped interviews for a class project. I trained the program with my voice at least 3 times. The transcripts that resulted were just absolute nonsense, they were not even remotely similar to the actual conversations. I expected some confusion, maybe confusing There for Thier and stuff like that, but the sentences were just gobbletigook. If thats what youre planning on using this for, dont do it, its a waste of your money.

> 24 hourDont Buy until verification process is changed. This is speech recognition software that we buy and want to use not a top secret or covert spy stuff give me a break amd yourself one dont buy until changes are made. I bought product on 01/02/2012 and 1st had to buy more ram. 2nd tried to activate as directed as a charity only to find that only charities in UK can activate (the email We are unable to determine that your charity meets the publishers requirements for this program. Therefore, we are not able to approve your request for serial number(s). Please direct any questions about this policy to Nuance.) Ok I am also a full-time student and tried to use student email as instructed by Nuance only to be told that by the 3rd party my that my code was rejected because of prior use. The program itself may be the best thing since sliced bread but I may never know. Twenty something days later, I now have the serial number, I like the product, it will take awhile for me to learn to use it but it will be a help in my studies.

> 24 hourSo I just bought this item 22FEB2012 and tried to go to the website to register as a student to get my serial number to start the software but the website provided is down. I am glad that Nuance offers a student discount but if you dont want a bunch of bad reviews on your product and services you may want to get your registration website up and running. I immediately went to the main Nuance homepage to chat but that individual is just a sales rep and then only gave me a non-tollfree number to call...classic! Sadly they close at 6pm weekdays. Update 1: Website is up and running but very slowly. I was able to register and the serial number showed up really quick once I provided my .edu email address. I owned a previous version of this software so I will send out a second update once I have finished the papers that are due on Monday. Nuance reps FYA: Since I know you read these reviews, you should think about giving a trial period to register the product of say 10 days and then disable the software. This would help minimize these types of posts.

> 24 hourI purchased Dragon 11 from Staples, not the student edition but the full price package. I have the box in hand, the disk, and the Quick Reference Card, and I paid extra for the blue tooth device. I have spent 2 to 3 hours trying to activate my product and appearantly I dont have a valid serial number. I cant even find one single place on the box or on the disk that says Serial Number ...... or S/N Thanks to Nuance for wasting my time and money. Your customer service and ease of set up is a total disappointment. I sure hope a competitor enters the market soon and takes your business away. You dont deserve any financial success you have reaped over the years, if this is the way you treat customers.

> 24 hourUnfortunately, all posted links to the education validation on the Nuance site are broken. What IS this mysterious process anyway? Are part-time graduate students eligible for the Premium 11 Student version? Thanks.

> 24 hourThis software has saved my life!!! I love it...I am a fulltime student and I work partime. And I have to write papers all the time but I dont type. So it took me extra long..this program helps with that trmendously. Now all I do is write it out then speak it .....what took me hours takes me less than one hour..... Some things to consider, the headset that comes with it SUCKS your accuracy will be way off if you stick with it. I had to buy another one of better quality-- I now get 99% accuracy I had no problem getting my log in since I bought the student version and when i had a problem customer service@ Dragon was helpfull and walked me through the set up process without a hassle. Overall the program is great!!!! saves you alot of time.

> 24 hourI dont understand why people are having such a problem with this product. In just the short time that Ive had it I have been very pleased with its performance! I received this product on Thursday, January 5, 2012. Inside the box were instructions on how to obtain the serial number that would enable me to install the product. I went to the listed website, completed the online form, and gave them my college e-mail address. I received an immediate response on my college e-mail address with the registration key. As others have mentioned, the headset included in the package is essentially worthless. They are extremely ill-fitting, and actually hurt to wear them. In fact, I cannot foresee this headset sitting comfortably on anyones head. This is one of the most disappointing aspects of the entire package. Once the program was loaded onto my computer, I completed my profile and I was very soon up and running with dictation. In fact, this entire review was dictated using the Dragon program. I find the program very easy to use, and so far the dictation has been pretty smooth. I dont know if my voice is such that the program finds it easy to recognize, but the accuracy so far has been very impressive. I enjoy the fact that I can not only dictate, but that I can also make manual corrections on the keyboard if necessary. There is a learning curve involved, but I believe that over time I will become even more comfortable with the program and I will be able to increase my speed. Overall I am very happy with this program, and I believe that it will become a great asset to me with my college courses this term, especially since I have two classes that I will have to do a great deal of writing for. I would give this program five stars, however the headset that was included with the program is of such low quality that I feel I have to let people know that they will likely have to purchase a better one. (Or at least one that doesnt hurt to wear!)
