> 24 hourVery interesting. A different twist on a story of wizard a and magic. This story had love, suspense and mystery. I really enjoyed reading this book. I will get the next one.

> 24 hourThe character development runs deep. Amazingly detailed development of Jess. Having horses myself, I found her portrayal of horse turned woman realistic and compelling. A must reed for anyone who loves horses and likes fantasy.

> 24 hourI enjoyed parts of this book, not so much the beginning quarter of it. The worst part was the extremely poor editing. Many letters and words left out. And at one point the girl/horse shakes her man, instead of mane. I may have laughed at that, except the entire book was full of irritating parts like that. Possibly the worst part was the introduction in which the author stated she had opportunity to change the Kindle edition and improve it from the printed copy. I am very happy I did not read the printed version if the Kindle book was better.

> 24 hourIve read sci-fi and fantasy for over fifty yrs, but rarely have I encountered a more beautifully written story than Dun Ladys Jess. It makes every other shape-shifter series pale in comparison. I dont say that lightly, being a loyal fan of Eileen WIlks (Lupi), Laurell K. Hamilton (Anita Blake) and Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse). If you are a horse-lover - and many girls are - you will instantly know that Ms. Durgin genuinely loves and understands horses. The mental confusion, the physical gestures - how a horse would behave if suddenly transformed into a human - are absolutely believable, with riveting yet succinct description. I give this my highest praise - Im buying Dun Ladys Jess in its original paperback so I can add into my permanent collection alongside the classic horse tales by Marguerite Henry that were illustrated by Wesley Dennis. The beautiful cover art of Dun Ladys Jess will fit in perfectly.

> 24 hourI suppose its OK if you are a teenager in love with horses. The premise is set in our world and a magical world, so the lack of detail development conveniently relies upon magic. Character development seemed shallow. The writing did not meet the level of the Clan of the Cave Bear series. I will pass on the follow-up books.

> 24 hourThis is one of the best stories Ive had the privilege to read! It is a very different way of dealing with magic. The characters are engaging and believable, esp Lady and Jess! I couldnt put the book down!

> 24 hourThe animal into human idea may not be new, but this is about the only example where I actually could believe it. Jess becomes a human during a transition between worlds - but only in her body. Even as she learns some human things, her thinking is horse, all the way. No 2 days and shes just a woman here, Jess is neither ashamed of being a horse nor completely comfortable as a human even at the end of the story. Of course at first her problem is in getting people to believe her. And in rescuing her owner with the help of people who are horrified that she belongs to Carey. This was a terrific beginning to what turned out to be a terrific series.

> 24 hourThis is the story of a horse who becomes a woman. Magnificent. Didnt think I would like it but it is so engaging. The story pulls you in. Not to mention that the writer knows so much about horses, they were able to make every move & reaction of the woman (who was actually a horse) exactly how that animal would behave and react. So unusual. Really enjoyed it.

> 24 hourI liked the story line. I have read of werecats, werebears, werewolves, were others. All from the human side of the story & some from the animal side. Most all were intriguing to me. The horse was a different challenge to the mind set. Especially as the changing back and forth seemed to bring a lot of confusion to the character. I am looking for the rest of the books now. Thanks...
