It does it job nothing more nothing less, now about lightning strike, never heard of any product protect against that best to still unplug everything during storm due to fact nothing survive a direct hit from lightning. It fireproof so thats something good and actually needed still recommend putting it on a piece of tile if you put it on floor if you put it on wall well check it now and again make sure everything working properly to prevent anything unnecessary problems, good product for good price

I liked the way the outlets are spread out for easy plugin of large connectors.

Item is as described. 4 Stars for the stretch-non-stretch cord. Length of cord is as stated (I did measure it) and it cannot go past the manufactured length. Other than that, worth the money. I love the green protected indicator light. Just know you MUST press the red switch on the end for the light to come on and for the strip to work. This power strip is not like most of cheaper ones you can get at the dollar store and I think this is an awesome safety feature. I used the strip to isolate my TV and cable components from an outlet thats controlled by a wall switch. I did not want to reorganize all the cords in the original P.S., so I just plugged that into my echogear PS. Pics 1-4 on/off wall switch now controls lamp only. Its my first time using echogear brand and I love what Ive seen so far. The package does come a 10% coupon to use on your next purchase and a product warranty. Cant go wrong with either!

So far, the only thing about the item is the cord. Would rather had an 8 inch cord. But it was easy enough to make it work for me.
