> 3 dayI have put one under the kitchen sink, one in the garage, and one in the camping trailer. Hopefully I never need to use it- but this is a much lighter weight, and cleaner option for a small fire than using an extinguisher!

> 3 dayThese blankets are a must have. They are very easy to store for when you need them. You can get the blanket out quickly by pulling the straps. You get two in this set which is a great value.

> 3 dayThis fire blanket is a must have. It comes in a ready to hang bag with easy Velcro opening for emergencies. The instructions with photos are on the front of the bag. The heavy weight blanket can be used to put out a fire on the stove top or it can be used to put out a clothing fire. The storage bag measures 13 x 8 and is about an inch thick so it is easy to store in a laundry room or garage.

> 3 dayThis is a small blanket but a good size to cover a candle that got out of control or your poor cooking skills! You can hang it in your pantry and then pull the tabs to quickly release the blanket for use. I got the 4 pack and will give 1 to a family member for their kitchen. If the fire is small this seems like a quicker option than a fire extinguisher and potentially less messy. Every home should have a fire suppression device whether it be a fire extinguisher, blanket, etc...its a good investment. As always, if the fire doesnt seem to be contained please call 911/Fire Rescue ASAP!

24-11-2024Ordered this fire blanket to have on hand for emergency use. I like how it is packaged in a bright red vinyl case to be easy to find when you need it, and very sturdy with an easy to open velcro closure. Its compact enough that it fits perfectly in one of my utensil drawers next to the range top of my oven - it will be at my fingertips if / when needed. For the low price this blanket is giving me a lot of peace of mind. Recommended.

> 3 dayIt’s difficult to review this product because it is a fire, blanket and some thing that you hope you would never have to use. I do have to say that it comes in a good packaging and states that it is good for five years. It feels very heavy and it says it’s made of fiberglass. I think this would be a great thing to have an anyone’s house or kitchen.

> 3 dayThis is the sort of item everyone should have in their home and that everyone hopes never to need. Just imagine, though if you are faced with a stove top fire how glad you would be to have one of these on hand. The operation is simple - just pull on the two black fabric straps and the 40 inch square sheet of fiberglass is opened. Toss it onto the flames to extinguish and leave it there until it cools. You just saved your whole kitchen and possibly your house from burning to the ground. At a cost of two of these for $20, its really not something you should even need to consider for long. Make the purchase and place these where you can get to them in the blink of an eye. What could be more important than the safety of your family? Accidents happen. Be prepared!

> 3 dayI hope to never have the opportunity to test this on an actual fire but I did take out and unfold a blanket and put it atop my range. Its large enough to smother a stovetop fire and feels thick and substantial. The best aspect of a fire blanket in comparison to a fire extinguisher is that the user is less likely to feel inhibited about using it as there is no extra mess or cleanup. I have encouraged many family members to purchase the same set of fire blankets that Ive just reviewed.

> 3 dayI hope I never have to put these to the test but they seem to be made of a heavy material that should drape well and conform nicely to whatever you lay it on. I would think that should help block the oxygen away from the burning surface, which would help extinguish the flames.

> 3 dayGrease fires are bad. Grease fires handled the wrong way can be catastrophic. With the amount of heat given off, getting a lid on a pan of burning grease can be intimidating and challenging. This is important because when the adrenaline hits - and it will - fine motor skills generally go out the window. This blanket increases the chance of successfully coving the fire as it relies only on gross motor skills. Your exposure to heat and fire is minimized as your hands and arms are shielded from the fire and heat. Operation is simple - just cover with the 3 x 3 blanket, turn off the heat, and leave it alone until it cools off. I would go a step beyond the instructions and also recommend calling your local emergency number, just in case. Its better to have the pros come out and make sure there is no fire extension into or above your stove or cabinets. $19.99 (at the time of this review) for two blankets is cheap insurance. Give the second one to a family member.
