The brand doesnt matter. Neatsfoot Oil is a leather dressing which waterproofs and softens leather. Ive used it on work boots since the 1960s. One can/jug/whatever tends to last a long time. I dont care that it darkens the leather a bit. The benefits of how durable this type of treatment makes the leather is well worth the slight change in color to a darker shade

Bought this for a pair of Wolverine 1000 Miles, and it works EXCELLENTLY. Highly recommend this product.

I used this to preserve some leather straps I had and it worked well. The leather soaked it in, and like others have commented, I would say it darkened the leather a bit. Since it was simply leather strapping, the slight change in color was not an issue.

I grew up on the backs of horses and had to clean my tack daily and oil it as needed or bi weekly depending on weather (rain didnt stop our lessons). The saddle I grew up with is still around and soft and supple. It sat in storage for 20 years and when I took it out I was a bit nervous but besides being dusty it looked and felt just like when I put it away. The picture is after I cleaned the dust off and re-oiled it with the neatsfoot oil. That saddle was bought in 1980 and I think it looks great for the amount of miles on it plus the storage time. I am a believer in this product.

This product works!. I bought some cheap halters made with leather from India they were so stiff and unusable I was thinking about throwing them away. After wiping on a thick coat of this stuff working it in they are supple enough to use on my horses in a pinch. There is absolutely no smell or odor from this product. I’m not sure why others are saying there is, there isn’t. Bottom line is I’ll be using this on all my leather. Tip: Do yourselves a favor and don’t buy cheap leather from India, it’s not worth it!

If you dont already know this is the very best saddle and bridle oil. I have all leather furniture because of allergies and the dogs. I wash my furniture with Murphys oil soap then if I need to I oil it. There is one chair and ottoman near a fireplace that gets dry that one I have to oil. I would recommend this to all riders for their tack. Dont use too much on your reins too often or they will get too soft.

Really left my leather jacket soft shiny and supple. So soft and shiny that my friends thought that I purchased a new jacket. It does coagulate in cooler weather so keep that in mind for unheated garage applications. Also for a couple of days your leather goods will smell like a slaughterhouse so keep that in mind if you apply this to jackets, pants or other outerwear. After a week or so the smell goes away.
