Fix-It Utilities 12 Professional [Old Version]

There are a number of PC utility packages out there. Symantec (Norton), Avanquest, System Mechanic, etc all make system utility programs that are supposed to help you remove old programs, de-clutter your hard drive, remove viruses and trojans, recover lost files, securely delete old files, etc.

Not working properly since purchase. Errors with server contact to update virus definitions.

Fix-It Utilities 12 is a great program especially for people who are not PC experts. It has a very friendly user interface and very intuitive. No head-scratchers here. I installed it on my older computer which is running XP and it was an easy process. All I had to do was turn off my virus protection during the installation. Fix-It Utilities removes existing viruses, malware and spyware from the PC and safeguards against future infections. It prevents rootkits and keyloggers from stealing personal data. It also provides real-time protection against malicious activity with hourly updates against the latest threats. If you register your software you can also get access to technical support and important software updates.

Fix It Utilities is compatible to most products of this kind. I am partial to MaAfee, but decided to give this one a try. The first thing that stood out was that Fix It protects up to 5 PCs and most others only protect up to 3 PCs. The price was in the same range as other PC protections and the installation was easy. There is not much else I can say at this point...need a few months to observe how well it protects.

This product made the computer worse , like it downloaded a virus. I used the product over a year ago but they will not quit sending me emails. I have asked to be removed from their mailing list but that only makes it worse. The emails have been somewhat threatening, like If you dont purchase our new product, your computer will become infected in 30 days. It wasnt my computer, it was a lady from church that I was trying to help but I made the mistake of using my email.

Crashed all the time. I threw it away

I am someone who only has a basic knowledge when it comes to computers so I wasnt sure if I was going to be able to set up and run this by myself. As luck would have it the instructions were really easy to follow and I was able to accomplish using this without any other assistance.

I put the word Professional in caps because I believe this product is for people who really know and understand computers and the OS. I let Fix it clean out unwanted or unneeded files and then couldnt open some of my regularly used programs and had to re install them. If you know what you are doing and take the time to review the list supplied you can find a lot of junk that will help make your computer better, fix issues and make it faster. But if you dont know what you are doing, I think it can be dangerous. Id suggest NOT going with the default lists and options but instead to examine and research everything before you allow Fix-It to fix it.

I have been experiencing a lot of glitches with my home computer and it is only a couple years old. I thought that Id try this software to help extend the life and maybe just maybe relieve some of its issues. Instillation was easy and without problems. It seems to have fixed a few of my issues but not all of them. I think with this software I was able to get some more life out of my computer then if I hadnt utilized it. I believe at this point for my computer a complete re-install is necessary and will be performed soon. Good bandage but I dont think it is good for my particular problem.
