Ive been using this product for a few years now. I undercoat my truck in the fall before winter. I also use it on a variety of tools and machinery. The most wonderful thing about this is that its all natural. I dont worry about where it ends up (i.e. my hands, floor, overspray, pets, kids, etc. ) It also works really well for its intended purpose of repelling water/snow/ice and retarding rust. I will keep using it and have found no downside.

I live in the North East USA, and find that our winter vehicles only seem to last around 8 or 10 years before their brake and fuel lines start rusting out. Over the last couple of years Ive been treating the vehicles to try and make them last longer. Fluid film is easy to apply using a regular shutz gun (though I originally brought the Fluid Film kit that includes a spray gun). Based on two years of application, Im impressed by the protection that Fluid Film can provide - but the problem is that if its anywhere exposed to road spray/water, it seems to wash off, and needs to be reapplied each year. I dont yet know if the protection its providing to the lines is good enough to protect them the entire winter. My feeling so far is that Fluid Film works best when sprayed inside doors and panels where it can drip into the nooks and crannies where water (and salt) would normally gather - and corrosion begin. To apply to some of these places its easier to use the aerosol cans (with an extended spray wand)). I now use the gallon cans to spray inside frame rails and other hidden locations under the vehicle where where it wont be removed by road spray. This year Ive applied another product (Amsoil HD Metal Protector) to more exposed locations). This product seems to set more than the Fluid Film and (hopefully) will provide better protection in exposed locations. However, it is only available in (expensive) aerosols.

Put this stuff on my Toyota box frame because they are notorous for rust. I applied it last fall and its been on for a year. Applying it is difficult if you dont have a sprayer, I used a paintbrash and a had my vehicle jacked up on solid cinderblocks, not easy and time consuming but it works and will get you a good undercoat for $55 all in (including the $10 paintbrush). Its a great value, especially compared to buying aerosol cans of fluid film. Anothor plus of the fluid film is that it doesnt smell bad, doesnt smell great but it as bad as brakleen. I hardly went through any of the bucket when I did my undercoat, Ill probably get 5 years out of it. Over the winter I drove through rain, snow, and salt. There isnt many/any signs of rust. The only negative I can say is that this stuff will attract road grime if you do a heavy application, this wont road grime wont lead to rust but any time you touch the frame youll get road grime on you. The application is very resilient, I see people saying it will wear off with just rain. This is absolutely false, even on my vehicle driven at highway speeds in the wet this stuff didnt wash away. You would need something like a pressure washer for it to remove a coat.

Love this stuff! I have tried several other brands of corrosion prevention sprays and this is by far the best. Yes, it leaves a slippery film on a surface that does not dry out which is the point for adequate protection. You may find it necessary to wipe off (where maintenance is required) and then re-applied, for example for suspension work. It is not as inexpensive as some other brands when purchased in spray cans but Fluid Film is worth it. If you have large applications or like to apply it for example once or twice a year to your vehicles then buy the complete kit with a spray gun. If you have smaller periodic applications then add the spray cans to your Amazon list and keep an eye on the price. $10/can seems to be the best price so far. Hate to mention this on Amazon but it is also periodically available on sale at Lowes or AutoZone.

The gallon can I ordered never came in, however; I have a gallon that I had previously purchased. The spray cans are easier to use for multiple applications ( boat motor, door hinges, trailers etc.). This fall I plan on spraying the undercoat of my vehicles and have no worry about the performance of F2F. This can finally be found in Lowes and HD. Previously it couldnt be purchased anywhere except for Marine type store. Ive been using the product for 15 yrs.

I warmed the gallon and sprayer in the oven at 120 degrees. It is cool/cold out to be spraying. Warming makes it go very well. Not flammable is huge, smell is ok, doesnt make a mess in the garage. I have an f150, a gallon went fast, needed two gallons, probably over applying. I am using a 5hp 30 gallon sprayer at 120psi, covers an area very fast.

My brother-in-law and I have been using this for over 10 years on all of our cars and it seems to help in our rust-prone NE Ohio climate. Different garages have told both of us that our shocks/struts are leaking after using this, but its just been the Fluid Film. So be sure that they really are leaking before you replace them.

Fluid film is easy to apply using the spray-on application kit. Its a must for any vehicle or machinery that operates in a corrosive environment. Vehicles are ridiculously expensive these days, so it only makes sense to protect them from the damage caused by salt spray. Fluid Film, if applied properly, will slow down the rust & corrosion that destroys vehicles up here in the Northeast.

I have been tasked with maintaining steel equipment in a marine environment for fifty years and this is the best product for equipment that is not easily sandblasted and painted. Its not suitable for things that are handled but for areas not subject to touch, its by far the best protection.
