> 24 hourSimply put, this is the best overall contact voltage tester you can buy. There are some with different features, or more/less features, but this one has what you need. Frosted white end shows the LED indicator even in relatively bright light. So even outside you see and hear the indicator. In a crowded box you can have confidence you are getting the correct wire as hot, since it is so specific.

> 24 hourWorks great, beeps and lights up when detects electricity on any given installation, wire, or even on some appliances or devices. It has an interval flashing to ensure you that its working.

> 24 hourHad one of the early models. It went bad because the battery was inaccessible. This one lets me change batteries. It also has more checks as well as sound.

> 24 hourI have one of these at work and i have the same brand and style for use around the house. I have dropped both my work one and my home one from time to time. These occured from 6 and 8 foot ladders. Picked it up and it still worked. The price is great, so much so that i have purchased a few for friends as gifts. Just what your typical handyman needs around the house. I love the audible tone and the ability to test without tone as well for easily seen areas. Please be aware that in areas where the wires are tight, like in a junction box, the wires need to be seperated a bit or capped of and then tested spread apart from each other. This is in no way a replacement for a good old fashioned multimeter but it quickly idetifies a confirmation of power on a particular wire or more than one wire in a circuit. I use this mainly to make sure that power is flowing through a switch, outlet, or to identify a particular breaker for a more major repair. Please be sure to test for power after turning off breaker by a good old fashioned meter as a double confirmation before doing work on an exposed circuit.
