> 3 dayBought one for my son and lasted about 2 hours before it stopped beeping and worked only intermittently. Put in fresh batteries and it didnt help. Though it might be a fluke so I bought one for myself thinking it was just a one time thing and I could send his back. My worked even worse – would alert to a thick hot power cord (not all) but in some instances wouldnt ever alert when probed in a hot 120v duplex receptacle.

Greater than one weekThis is a handy little tool to find the presence of voltage in wires leading up to a receptacle or other device. I don’t rely on it exclusively though.

> 3 dayWhen I first turned it on, it lit up. The next day when I went to use it, it did not work. Changed batteries and still did not work. Ordered a different brand now.

> 3 dayAnother quality fluke product. I purchased this item to check for voltage while checking and changing water heater heating elements. I have found multiple uses around the house. One nice feature is the plastic tab on the tip of the tool. The tab fits into a prong slot on the outlet and emits a constant tone when the outlet is hot. If the tool can be heard from the load center it makes it east to know when the correct breaker has been switched off.

> 3 dayI have a more user friendly ac voltage tester at 1/4 the price previously purchased thru amazon... ... This Fluke 1ACII is supposed to be superior, it is more sensative and i can pick up hot wires in a twisted pair power cord, which is good, ( compared to my previous unit )... however in my opinion is annoying to use.. 1 st.. = no nose light ( a must in dark areas sorting close wiring, . 2ed.... _ when turned on, the nose continuous flashes - which is distracting and annoying .... and confuses me to think I have a hot wire, or intermittent hot wire... 3ed.... - the nose continues to flash after use, until you turn it off.... 4 th... - to change from beep to no beep sound indicating a hot wire, you have to fiddle with the green power switch, which is erratic, slow to respond, and has a mushy action... 5th... same for turning it on or off.. you have to fiddle with the switch to be sure .... I dont have time to be distracted for safety reasons, and play with the switches, and be bothered with annoying flashes WHEN DOING ELECTRICIAN WORK.. .. My previous purchased unit looks identical to this fluke, however, has a nose light, has a snap action light switch, and flashes and beeps only when near a hot wire, and quiet thereafter. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.. I plan to return it... ..... P.S. I have several Fluke autorange VOMs purchased 15 yrs ago for $ 300. + range, and they are excellent, however, the fast blow internal fuses are extremely expensive and difficult to obtain..
