> 24 hourJust as advertised. Had 2 bad experiences with WD Passport drives - both corrupted and ruined my life for 2 weeks trying to bring them back. Bought a G-Drive instead and it works perfectly.

> 24 hourHave used Lacie drives primarily but bought this one to see how it compares and it went out within a year. They will send you a replacement, which is refurbished and do not cover any data recovery. Find something else!

> 24 hourAfter using this hard drive for a few months files have started becoming corrupted, mysteriously. Thankfully I had some of the files backed up on a Sandisk SSD. Dont waste your time with this garbage, buy a Sandisk. Its worth the extra cost. **UPDATE** The drive completely wiped itself out and gave me a fatal hardware error. DO NOT BUY!!

> 24 hourI purchased the WD 5 TB drive less than a year ago. The drive has failed and trying to go through Western Digital for a warranty claim is dismal and super frustrating. They have lost my proof of purchase, made it extremely had to make a warranty claim and they do not reach out to try and get any information to finalize the claim. Also the system they use for claims is riddled with bugs. My claim has sat in limbo with them in the system for over a month. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST purchasing another brand other than Western Digital, G-Technology & HGST.

Well now
> 24 hourSometimes thee portable hard drives are a bit...fussy. This is just plug and go. And seems to be (so far) well neigh indestructible.

> 24 hourThis is a slow drive and thats OK. I assumed slow goes with sturdy. In this case the drive runs normally, but files began to just vanish after powering down and re-starting the drive just days later.. Then copying files began to fail and other files became corrupt making the drive completely unreliable. The drive is used with MAC OS APFS format. I have validated that this is the only drive with the issue in a 5-drive rotation of other brand drives
