Its a cup with different types of ridges inside to help you prep your brushes. If youre trying to figure out if you should buy it, ask yourself this: 1) Do you need something to help you get the paint off quicker for when youre trying to switch colors/clean up quickly? 2) Do you like to do a lot of fine brushwork and need the tips perfectly smoothed and pointy? If the answer to either of those is yes, then get this. The first is helped by grooves on the side and bottom, the second is helped by little channels to drag the smaller brushes through on the back. Otherwise, just get yourself a cheap mug or glue some coins to the bottom of a styrofoam cup to weight it down and use that. For the record, I answer yes to #2 and find this helps a fair amount.

I scoffed when I saw this branded cup at the game store. Then I saw the ridges along the bottom and sides of the cup and the grooves for refining the brush tip and the place molded into the top of the cup to rest the brush. Im used to drawing the brush across a paper towel to form the tip and remove excess water. Using the grooves on the side of the cup, the point is mostly formed and the excess water mostly shed. As a result, drawing the brush across a paper towel only leaves a trace of water, and Im not replacing soggy paper towels every hour. In addition, the ridges on the bottom and sides of the cup help to remove paint by drawing the brush over them (as opposed to simply swirling it around in a glass jar). With less paint held up in the brush, in theory brush life will be extended. The cup is also lightweight and solid. It seems silly to buy a water cup, but the innovations in this one are proving very useful and convenient.

Seriously. Its a pot for water for when youre painting your miniatures. It has a few touches that make it superior to a coffee mug (it has a notch for resting your paintbrush off the table, and there are structures inside the pot that make it easier to divest your brush of excess. It is sturdy and it is designed to not knock over easilly. Unlike warhammer games, which are known by iteration number, this has an actual year on it...so you can lord it over fellow hobbyists thirty years from now that youve been buying miniatures for thirty years. Also like most warhammer minatures, it is supplied unpainted.

Im new to painting, but this has definitely helped a ton! the ridges are helpful to quickly clean my brushes and the grooves are there to help get that point again. Im strictly against the old school method of using my mouth to wet and form the tip of my brush! Im not going to be a paint eater... gross!

Its easy to say well I can just use a cup/mug/jar for this for free, and thats true, but the small conveniences of the brush rest, the ridges along the bottom and up the sides for brush cleaning, and the shaper channels along the side really make the whole painting process easier. It saves time by helping you get a better clean, a reliable place to set a brush, and a quick shape to small brushes. If you want a dedicated water cup for painting, this is a great way to go.

Ive always used a cast off glass jar for holding paint water, but was curios enough to give this a try. The ridges and brush guides really do help. Its worth the price just for the brush shapers.

I bought this from Games Workshop directly so it is not shown on here. I love this pot. I paint daily as part of a side job and hobby, and this has been serving me amazingly. I will point out the slits on the side make it so much easier to get your brush clean and to a point. Plus the shape keeps it from being tipped over and ruining your keyboard like i did prior to getting this.

Its made of thin plastic, but it works. Ive seen painters and youtubers use the paint cup and I decided I wanted one. For some reason I thought this would be a bit heavier and girthier. Its just made of think plants with the citidel logo and brandnig. It still looks cool and is funtional, so not complaints there. Its just much lighter than I thought it would be.
