> 3 dayI scoffed when I saw this branded cup at the game store. Then I saw the ridges along the bottom and sides of the cup and the grooves for refining the brush tip and the place molded into the top of the cup to rest the brush. Im used to drawing the brush across a paper towel to form the tip and remove excess water. Using the grooves on the side of the cup, the point is mostly formed and the excess water mostly shed. As a result, drawing the brush across a paper towel only leaves a trace of water, and Im not replacing soggy paper towels every hour. In addition, the ridges on the bottom and sides of the cup help to remove paint by drawing the brush over them (as opposed to simply swirling it around in a glass jar). With less paint held up in the brush, in theory brush life will be extended. The cup is also lightweight and solid. It seems silly to buy a water cup, but the innovations in this one are proving very useful and convenient.

> 3 dayIf you put metallic paint in it, it will suck up those metal bits like a sponge does water and it will gather onto your brush. If you then use any other paints, it will fall into it and now my radiation on my Necrons sparkles like Edward from Twilight I use it because I like representing brands and such but there are more innovative and cooler products on Amazon for way cheaper. You are paying for the name on the cup. It does not hold that much water and needs to be washed constantly, and other pots I have do a better job of taking off the paint on my brushes. This pot has actually ruined 2 of my brushes. It gets 3 stars because it does what it says it does.

> 3 dayIve always used a cast off glass jar for holding paint water, but was curios enough to give this a try. The ridges and brush guides really do help. Its worth the price just for the brush shapers.

06-06-2025I want to first start off by saying u usually sit down and paint several miniatures in a single sitting (painting armies can be this way) and this little mug/cup has a few things that a normal mug doesnt have. One of the key things is that it has a set of groves lining the bottom of the pot that better allow you to agitate excessive pigments out of your brushes. This seems like a small deal but it honestly makes cleaning my brush a bit easier. Another cleaning feature this pot has is that it has slits running up the side of the mug that allow you to straighten and clean your bristles further. These small utilities add a lot of value to this product for me as my original pot was just a normal pot. Id highly recommend this product to any painter, notice or otherwise.
