Bought this to replace the Fenix 6X Sapphire that I purchased back in 2019. I wont go into all the various features of the watch but right up front I want to say that the battery life is a much greater than I had with my 6X. The touch screen is nice and the built in light has come in handy. I looked long and hard at the Garmin Epix Gen II with its AMOLED display but ultimately wanted the better battery life of the Fenix.

This absurdly priced watch has one of the dimmest screen I have ever seen. It is only reasonably visible in strong direct sunlight or in nearly pitch black situations. And even in the later case, you have to press the brightness button to get any semblence of readable text. The menu navigatgion is also a nightmare. No wonder all the reviewers crow about is the battery life becasue that is the single positive thing about this watch. I came here from the Samsung 3, which was a great smart watch but only pairs with Samsung phones. I have a Sony phone now, so I guess I will have to look elsewhere for a decend smart watch to pair it with.

While from the product photo, it appears the blue is more of a dull-ish blueish grey, I’m still overall happy with the watch. Also I wasn’t aware the side profile was white, so adding stainless steel band to make it more modern and classy didn’t work to the full effect I wanted. Nonetheless, Garmin makes wonderful watches and could never after going through over 10 Fitbits, I am happy to purchase something with more longevity.

After living with a daily charger watch. I decided to get something that could handle all of my applications without dying at the end of the day. It was a struggle to make the decision as the watch is not inexpensive, but once I had it in hand I knew that I had made the correct decision. Tons of capabilities which I learn about daily.

Absolutely exactly what I was looking for. Of you have an older Fenix, upgrade, its worth it. Touch screen has changed my life.

I tried the Fénix 5X and returned it because it was very tedious to use the maps with buttons only. The Fénix 7X Sapphire Solar not only solves this problem but has a massive increase in battery life and better sensors all around. Most well-traveled trails don’t need fancy GPS watches, but I’ve been going off the trails more and more, and having an accurate GPS and not just a breadcrumb app is convenient. It beats relying only on Compass and maps only.

it does a lot of things but...$800 are really not worth it, especially when a lot of those things are done at half the price from other smartwatches - even from the same manufacturer! after a few days I have returned it
