> 24 hourI purchased this based on past successes with Glyph as a premium device for which I was willing to pay the extra premium. I used it as a third tier backup for important financial information. Unfortunately it failed shortly after the return deadline. I did not have it encrypted nor password protected so was reluctant to return it to Glyph for an exchange out of concern of data privacy. So I would 1) recommend not purchasing this and 2) with the one that you eventually purchase add protection so that if it fails you can feel comfortable with any return policy.

> 24 hourI purchased this drive for my daughter to use with her MacBook Pro when she heads to college. It is extremely quiet and appears to be rugged. My only recommendation would be to reformat the drive for timemachine even though it comes pre-formatted for Mac as after we did a timemachine backup it must have taken 3 days for it to complete the encryption. I read that this is not an issue with the drive but the way macs work.

> 24 hourThis seems like a really well built unit. However, I have been unable to use it. Since I was using this for a Windows computer, I went as directed to the website for instructions to re-format it. No such instructions exist on the Glyph website. I googled for instructions and found some supposedly from a Glyph tech (who, by the way, apologized at the beginning for the lack of instructions on their website). This is not the first time Ive had to re-format a hard drive for Windows, though its been a while. I never had trouble before, but his instructions were hard to follow and often led to a dead end. So far, I have a rather expensive paperweight, but I have hopes for the future. My suggestion, if you have a Mac, buy this. If you have a Windows PC, proceed with caution.

> 24 hourI usually like Glyph drives, but this model seems to have a design flaw. The drive I bought loses its connection when the drive is moved. The USB C cable does not appear to be properly fastened to the board, so the connection is intermittent when even the USB cable gets touched. This is a huge fail and I would avoid this drive. Its a snake because my 2 TB version that I bought two years ago is still running perfectly and that one has been all over the planet.

> 24 hourWishing this was a 7200rpm device for 4K video editing. Also, wish the footprint was a bit smaller. Other than that, great drive thats dependable. Has a nice green glowing light. I prefer that over the bright white light on some drives.
