> 3 dayHad them in the past - hopefully the recipe hasn’t changed much. Will update review when I try new flavors. *update* chocolate is my favorite, tastes just like frosting! The caramel ones have a weird aftertaste but nothing unbearable, and the vanilla bean is great to use (personally on an empty stomach).

> 3 dayLove this. Im one of those rare women that can live without chocolate. Yet when I do indulge, I tend to go for the after-dinner chocolate mints or peppermint patty-type of candy. I dont use the packets. I have the coordination of a drunk bear and after cutting my lip trying to open a packet, I bought one of those flasks that you can add sports gels to.This is great. I also like the GU Chocolate Outrage, but this one is more liquidy whereas the Outrage has the consistency of icing, which is okay, but not when someone (me) needs a sugar boost. This has the consistency of chocolate syrup. The flavor is perfect. I have this on monthly order through Amazon for the simple reasons that a) its rare that you can find this flavor in sports stores, and b) my husband treats this like candy.

> 3 dayI havent tried too many of the other gel products on the market, so this review may not have much context. However, the Gu gels have been great for my needs. I first tried the sampler pack, with a variety of gel flavors, and settled on the Espresso Love flavor. Im currently training for the Chicago Marathon, and Ive had Gu with me since my first long run of 6 miles. I recently finished a 20 mile run with 4 gels in my fuel belt, and Ill say that these things are a necessity for any run over an hour. The espresso flavor is pretty tasty and has a bit of a savory flavor. Recommended if you are a runner logging long miles.

> 3 dayTasted about like you would think. Not too sweet considering its pure glucose gel. As a type 1 diabetic getting back into mountain biking I go through these things pretty fast on the trail. Usually 3-4 per 1 hr ride and I dont seem to have any issues with digestion or too much aftertaste. I would recommend following with a few slugs of water to clear the palate after or your mouth can get pretty sticky and dry as one might expect when drinking a couple tablespoons of jelly/honey. If you need instant energy/blood sugar like I do then these do the trick and taste great.

Greater than one weekI questioned whether or not these were actually working or if I was experiencing placebo effect so I brought it to one of my Anatomy professors to look at. He looked over the ingredients list and then proceeded to delve into the science of how & why it works. I will save you the boring to most/fascinating to me details - definitely not placebo effect! Essentially, its helping your body produce the ATP it needs to keep you going. So its definitely working the way that it should. The Toasted Marshmallow are my absolute favorite flavor followed by the Salted Caramel.

> 3 dayOk I admit that title is such a dad joke. Im sorry. However, Ive tried so many GU flavors and this is probably my favorite. The extra caffeine doesnt hurt either. Especially for those early morning long runs. If Im running late and dont have time for coffee these are a pretty good substitute. Have used these to get through half IMs, marathons, and other endurance events and they have always come through for me. They are just effective. Can tell the difference when I dont take them. Dont make me feel heavy or bloated afterwards. The other thing I really like about GU over say Hammer Gel is that the Gu packet is thin enough that I can fit it in my mouth and pull everything out with my teeth instead of having to push it up bit by bit like many other brands. Makes taking these in stride so much quicker and easier. Simply put these are my go to for many situations.
