Herschel Novel Duffel Bag

I don’t get why there are so many negative comments. This bag came exactly as pictured! I even got the camo one that everyone appears to have an issue with and it’s perfect!

This duffle (while on the expensive side) is extremely well made. It arrived in pristine condition (new, as advertised). The duffle takes abuse while simultaneously looking fantastic. The shoe compartment is a cool addition (have yet to need it at the airport, or something). Initially I wasnt sure about the pinkish interior but after using it I can say the color scheme works well. As far as how to use it and what to put in it, Id imagine anyone looking for a duffle bag wont have a hard time figuring it out. I can put several undershirts, a pair of jeans, a pair of dress shoes, a toiletry bag and a random assortment of electronic gear in it and head out the door quickly. I wont hesitate to get a bigger duffle from Herschel Supply Co. in the future, or one for my wife.

This was a Christmas gift for my older teen granddaughter. You never know what they will like. She loved it! She’s in college and always on the go so she needed this. I thought the quality of workmanship was great. The color was very unusual (Rose Tan) but beautiful, the shoe storage underneath was perfect. All around I am very pleased with this purchase. I also bought one for her older brother (Dark Blue) he loved his too! I will observe how well they hold up.

This is hands down the perfect weekender bag. The shoe compartment (able to easily handle a pair of size 12 boots) is a huge plus and helps keep any dirt or sand (for when you go to the beach) that may be on or in your spare pair of shoes away from the rest of your clothes. The bag is light and roomy with sturdy handles and a shoulder strap that I have yet to break (youd be surprised at how often I break these things). Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, good quality weekender bag. Just FYI, mine smelled a little funky when i got it, but I just let it air out for a day or 2 and everything was okay. Not sure if this was just my bag and where it was stored or if this is normal for Herschel bags.

The bag looks great and has a lot of room, but when I unboxed it I noticed stains on the zipper, now Its advertised as being NEW and for the price to have stains on the zipper is unacceptable

I bought the peacoat/crosshatch colorway as a Christmas gift for my brother. Its the perfect size for long weekend/short travels and the separate shoe compartment is a great little touch. Several reviews call out the faux leather straps falling apart within a couple uses but this colorway uses a sturdier fabric material for the straps. I cant speak to the durability of the straps yet but overall pleased with the quality/look.

Love Herschel I own multiple backpacks and fanny packs and never had an issue with quality or anything for that matter. The design is badass so I needed to buy this as my duffle. It carries A LOT. A little too big for it to be a gym bag honestly, but it does pack a lot. Separate compartment for my shoes is great. Wish there were multiple pouches inside or even on the outside. Theres one small pocket on the inside then the compartment for shoes. I dont see the issue with quality. Its sturdy and the material is thick in my opinion. Everyone compliments the design when they see it. My only complaints are the lack of/limited amount of pockets and compartments as well as the squeaking. I ignored the reviews I read and was thinking Id test my luck. Even if it did squeak, it couldnt be THAT bad right? I WAS WRONG. The squeaking is so freakin loud and obnoxious. Sometimes I need to carry it by the handle because if I hear the squeaking one more time, I will throw my bag across the courtyard and leave it. I want to switch out the strap and see if it helps. Other than that, it was worth the $90 bucks.

The photos do this product too much justice. It is one of the more expensive duffel bags available on Amazon. The label looks good and the product is well designed. Materials are my objection. The nylon material is not tactical strength. I do not believe that the product is a knockoff. But it feels like it was made on the cheap. It feels like a $30 made in china tote bag whereby you pay $60 extra for the Herschel tag. They could not spare an extra $10 for better materials? When you pay premium prices you expect premium quality. I returned this item right away, because I paid premium prices for marginal to average quality. This product would be a great buy at $30-40 not $90.

Love this bag. The colors look much better in person. I also got the matching travel toiletry case. I love love the Herschel brand and the durability of their products! The Herschel packaging was extremely raggedy - since this was a gift I couldn’t keep it in the original packaging, super inconvenient.
