Herschel Novel Duffel Bag

The bag looks great and has a lot of room, but when I unboxed it I noticed stains on the zipper, now Its advertised as being NEW and for the price to have stains on the zipper is unacceptable

This bag is my entire life! I take it with me everywhere when I travel and I’m always amazed with how many compliments I get on it for just being a plain black bag. Herschel is one of my favorite brands and this bag just exudes minimalist perfection. It has everything you need and a great design, what else can you ask for? My only recommendation would be to have the shoe garage a little bit more constructed so you could slip your shoes in whenever without handing to fuss with the contents of your bag, but that’s really splitting hairs. Overall, an amazing bag if you’re looking for something sleek and sophisticated.

Holds plenty, not heavy yet durable, my go-to bag for travel.

I use this as my “overnight” bag for work. I carry it almost every day. It’s made very well like everything else from Herschel. This bag gets tossed in and out of the trunk of my car on a near daily basis and it doesn’t have one blemish or tear in it. As for the space, I am able to keep a replacement uniform as well as day and night outfits for the next day and a cosmetics bag comfortably in the main compartment. If you are going to put shoes or boots in it, then you’ll have space for about 2 complete outfits rather than 3. The inside mesh pocket is a great place for chargers and a couple bottles of daily medication. The outside accessed lined pocket will work well for dirty laundry or shoes if you need it to, but obviously it’s going to diminish the available space inside the bag. I don’t use the lined pocket often. The handles and shoulder straps are well made and sturdy as is the main zipper. I have had this filled to the brim a few times and noticed the strong stitching in the zipper. I don’t regret this purchase one bit. In my opinion, most other duffle bags are smaller with poorer quality. Any bigger and this bag wouldn’t be so functional and easy to carry. It’s perfect.

The bag is fine, very nice! However, the shoulder strap did not come with it.

This is one of my favorite products - because it is so clearly designed with the customer in mind. I use it for weekend trips and have used it as my default bag during a career in consulting for Monday-Thursday travel projects. This duffel fits in smaller overhead bins of regional jets that do not fit a rollerboard, which was a key selling point for me when considering it for business travel. The bag itself is sturdy, durable and stylish. One of the best features is the pocket for storing shoes separately. For weekend trips or business trips where I would like to exercise, this pocket allowed me to store my running shoes and workout clothes and socks separately from my dress clothes which were folded neatly inside the body of the duffel. Overall its a great bag. I own one myself and have bought one for another family member as a gift when they began a career that involved short business travel.

Liked the look of the bag but the shoe storage for which we bought it for could be better. We don’t even use it because you have to have the bag empty before putting your shoes in. If you go to the gym that would require removing everything from your bag to slide the shoes in and then repack your bag. It is NOT convenient. Usually it is separated on the bottom as a separate compartment but this is not and goes right the area. It is “covered” meaning will not get your items dirty but encroaches on the space.

I ordered this bag to use on domestic flights with smaller aircraft. On its first day of use, the metal clip broke that held the duffle bag strap. It was frustrating but I made do with it until I returned home. I ordered a replacement through Amazon and when I received it, I immediately saw a degradation in quality. The bag felt cheaper and the tags were different - the original bag had Herschel stamped/engraved in it. The replacement was a printed tag with a misspelled word (Liferime vs Lifetime). The zippers and color of the synthetic leather was also different too. Basically I had two issues: my replacement was counterfeit and the original bag’s clasp broke. Overall the experience was within my expectations after buying it on Amazon. Other reviews noted BOTH of these issues separately. Never did I think I would experience them both... the bag is still cool so I’ve decided to keep the original and upgrade the strap.

Awesome I use it for the gym. It would also be a good overnight bag. I get compliments all the time.

Idk if this is a actual Herschel product within a month the strapped popped. Reached out to exchange but to no avail I received no help. Now I’m a very big fan as I have the back pack and Fanny pack to this collection and grateful that I’ve had no issues with those items. May be because they were purchased at Nordstrom and not Amazon . Don’t waste your time pay the money and get the product worthy of what you paid. $70 bucks down the drain.
