> 24 hourI used to buy these when I lived in Illinois. Woodmans in Carpentersville carried them. In rural Ohio where I live now, there isnt a huge selection of pretty much anything, let alone garbage bags. When I became desperate for a trash bag that was made of a thicker plastic (or whatever its made of) that wouldnt break, no scent (Im allergic to a lot of fragrances), and one that fit the can without having to struggle to stretch it to fit, I looked up Hippo Saks here on Amazon. And low and behold there they were! These bags are well constructed. Ive never had one bust open or leak. I love the way they unroll. The WallyWorld (Walmart) imitations here pull off the roll at the handles - handle to handle. The bags are also paper thin. The Hippo Saks pull off bottom to handle so there is always a smooth line to break from. And because of that, the handles dont get mangled or ruined. The knock-offs here, often have the handles uncut properly which often times renders them useless. I have never had a Hippo Sak fail me off the roll nor after use in the trash can. You can also fill them to the limit and never have to worry about them breaking on the way out the door. Other lesser quality bags have done this to me repeatedly. I mean seriously, what good is a 13 gallon trash bag if you cant fill it with 13 gallons of trash? I definitely get my moneys worth with these. And my garbage men like them too because they dont break open on them either. If you are tired of lame trash bags that promise you the landfill but cant deliver, try these. You will not be disappointed. The reason Im back here and posted this review is because Im reordering so I dont run out! No more wanna-be trash bags for me! Thank you Hippo Sak!

> 24 hourNothing is worse than having your garbage bag tear and the contents fall everywhere. Since I started buying Hippo bags, they have never once torn or broken - even with heavy loads. Just look at the thickness and compare it to grocery store brands. Not only that but since they are made of sugar cane, they are way better for the environment. I’ve actually gotten several friends to switch to Hippo bags and they all prefer them now, too. I honestly prefer drawstring bags but I’m fine with these because the flaps are easy to tie.

> 24 hourWe love these bags! The popular name brand bags are ridiculously expensive, and the quality has gone downhill, so we went online in search of something different. The reviews for Hippo Saks were excellent, but we were still a bit hesitant to order bags without drawstrings. Turns out the handles on these are indeed long enough to close and tie a full bag and still have plenty of handle to hold onto for carrying it outside. Our kitchen garbage bin is made from wood, is fairly tall, and is square; my wifes brother-in-law built and stained it for her years ago. Shes since hand painted and stenciled designs on it, so as garbage bins go, its very nice, and she loves it. Finding kitchen garbage bags tall enough with ample width to fit around each of the four square corners, without tearing, has been a challenge. Also, we tend to pack our bags pretty full, so they need to be sturdy and leak proof. Visually, these bags appear thin, because they are slightly transparent, but looks can be deceiving. These bags are actually thicker than the Hefty Ultimate Flex bags wed been using (1.02 mil vs .9 mil) and quite strong. Were about halfway through a box of 90, without a single bag tearing or leaking. Theyre also substantially less expensive and made in the USA. These bags have been a great find, and well definitely reorder!

> 24 hourThese bags are wonderful!!! I cannot find any sort of trash bags with handles anymore. they all either come with those stupid twist ties or have those plastic pull string ties. Horrible!!! I used to buy this brand of bag at Kroger but not I buy them online. You can tie up the bag with the long handles and still be able to carry the trash without the handles cutting off the circulation in your hand (like the pull string ties do to me) The bags are very strong and dont leak either. The bags also come in the color black if that is preferred.

> 24 hourWeve always had a 13-gallon trash can in our kitchen and never really had any size issues with trash bags until about a year ago my son (our households garbage guy) and I noticed that no matter what (common) brand of trash bag I would purchase, the weight of the trash - even a small amount of trash - would cause the entire too-short bag to be pulled off the rim of the can and down into the trash can. No matter what brand I would purchase (Hefty, Glad, store-brand, off-brand, etc.) we would continue to have the same problem with the bag being too short/shallow and falling down into the can. I had never considered purchasing such a basic and common household item as trash bags online, but I was so frustrated I decided to see what I could find on Amazon. I decided to try the Hippo Sak Handle Trash Bags because of the great reviews and these bags did not disappoint! They are plenty long for our 13-gallon can, and we have never had a Hippo Sak trash bag split, tear or break on us. Also the REAL handles (vs. drawstring-type handles) are perfect for securely tying up a full bag of trash, and are plenty strong and comfortable to use for hauling away. The only thing that would make these bags better in (my opinion) is if they were scented or had a scent blocker for stinky garbage. Finally, the price for these bags is very competitive compared to other common brands, therefore I will continue to purchase Hippo Sak trash bags for my household!

> 24 hourBottom line tl;dr - Highly recommend these made in the USA 13 gallon bags. They are very well made, reliable and sturdy, easy to use, plus a good value (subscribe to get 27 cents per bag price point), and leave all those frustrating messes in the past where they belong! So glad I found these. Struggled on and off for years with Glad, Hefty and other brands where it seemed like they would unfailingly fail right when you needed them not to. Even being careful not to overload the bags, and buying the best and strongest from these brands (and paying top dollar, too, btw) they consistently disappointed with messy and frustrating tears, leaks, super clingy opening etc. Thats all in the past now. After a month of daily use, and not taking it easy on these bags from the kitchen to the garage, I can say these are very well made, solid, reliable and easy to put in and take out of our receptacles. At first I was ambivalent about the handles and tie vs. drawstring, but now I am 100% converted. These handles are the way to go - super easy with confident carrying and closing. These are the way to go for sure. Literally all pros and no cons for us.

> 24 hourAfter trying all the iterations of trash bags, from tie-ups and cinch sacks to supposedly reinforced mesh sacks, I keep returning to Hippo Saks. I have never had a tear, a leak, a broken seam or a snapped closure with these bags. This level of consistency and reliability is such a small thing to ask of a trash bag, but so difficult for most major manufacturers to deliver. These bag are strong, sturdy and multifunctional, so I can use them with confidence across a variety of applications: for trash in the Kitchen and Laundry Room, to collecting recyclables, to storing outgrown clothing for donation to local homeless shelters. I am such a fan of the brand that I also use their Pet Waste pickup bags for my dog walks, and the Pet Bags are equally strong and reliable. I buy the Extra Large size, and they make ideal car trash bags; they are not too large and not too small, but perfect for keeping the car neat and clean. Excellent brand, excellent quality, very fair price!

> 24 hourBest bags for tall kitchen trash cans. Good/sturdy thickness and has a fitted bottom. Just the right width to go into can easily and yet slightly hugs top of can. The large handles make removal quick and smooth.
