> 3 dayWhen I first read the reviews for these...I laughed and told my husband how it was funny how people were obsessing over these trash bags. Now..we are part of that crowd. I have never given thought to trash bags honestly...you put trash in them..thats it. You always ended up with holes here or there.normal..or so I thought until these bags. AMAZING!!! I love them. No holes..they hold everything. Fit my oval trash can. The handles are my favorite. No pushing the trash down to make more room..they are perfect. Im still feeling crazy about how I love these trash bags. Try them...you wont regret it.

> 3 dayThe best kitchen trash bags I have ever purchased. The Handle Ties are great and the extra one length of the trash bag helps more than you would think. Best Kitchen trash bag you can buy IMHO. Stay safe!

> 3 dayLong before discovering Hippo Sak, I had said a vehement, fervent, unequivocal NO to any tall kitchen trash bag that involved plastic drawstring handles. The reason being, those bags ALWAYS fell down into the can -- no matter what the brand, what the dimensions, what the thickness, what the price of said bags. And if there is anything that makes me surly, it is the can liner falling down into the bag when you throw something into the trash. SO I discovered (years ago) that the solution to that was buying ONLY handle-tie trash bags -- as in, the handles and the bag are all ONE PIECE and there is no drawstring effect. Im not sure why, but no matter what the brand, what the dimensions, what the thickness, and what the price, this type of bag NEVER caves in but stays snug around the rim until youre ready to remove it. From thenceforth and forever, any type of tall can liner except those with handle-ties were denied entrance into my home. But then, eventually, the type of trash can liner Id come to know and love became -- I have no idea why -- difficult to find on the shelves of my local one-stop retailer, which shelves were crammed to bulging with drawstring-tie can liners, as though that was all anyone wanted. So I went on a fishing expedition on Amazon and discovered Hippo Sak. Reviewed the ratings (all deeming these bags outstanding), ordered some, and HALLELUJAH! This trash can liner is ALL THAT and then some. You want handle ties? The top of this bag is generous to the point that the handles snugly hug the outside of the can for several inches down from the top. Youre never going to have any part of that bag falling into the can, no matter what you throw at it. In fact, theres so much room left in the top of these bags after youve topped off your trash can, that you can remove it and add lots more trash before carrying everything outside by those extra-generous and sturdy handles. I go around the house and gather all of the smaller wastebaskets and empty them into the top of the Hippo Sak and still have a hard time filling it. This bag is extra thick and strong and can take all the trash you feed it. Absolutely the most luxuriant and efficient trash can liner available on the market, as far as I am concerned. The big box lasts forever, too. Get yours today.

> 3 dayFIRST IMPRESSIONS These sacks are slightly thicker than other brands Ive used. They seem less likely to puncture, leak and tear. Many 13 gallon trash sacks are (inadequate) .7-.8 mil thickness- these are .91 mil. I appreciate the fact that, as a couple other reviews noted, there is no plastic smell when you open these bags either in the box or open them for use. The handles take some getting used to compared to tie end or draw strings bags. They allow more contents piled on top of the bag and close up much more easily. However, the handles seem to stretch slightly even under ordinary weight. While I like the efficiency and the easy close-up of these bags, Im not sure about durability. At their lowest price, $35+ for 270, they seem slightly overpriced- they are, after all, only thin sheets of bundled plastic, spooled on themselves, no drawstrings, etc. Four stars based on initial impressions. To be five, they may need to be more like 1 mill thick and cost .10 each in bulk- but well see how they hold up. UPDATE 60 DAYS: After several weeks of using these bags, I can say they are better than any I have used before. While I still wish they were a bit thicker and had reinforced handles, these have not leaked once. They have punctured in the midsection though, several times. But the winning feature here is the easy close-up handles on top that ties to hold the garbage in place. This feature comfortably allows an extra 15 percent or so of garbage bag contents, piled up on top. I also really appreciate there is no chemical odor with these bags. Five stars. UPDATE 2 YEARS: Very good bags. I especially like the tie-up handles that allow one to pile on about 15% more garbage on top. The bags have only leaked a couple of times, but they have leaked a couple of times. The leak is not at the orange seam at the bottom- that is reinforced well. It is right above that area, in the midsection, where the bag is slightly weak. While thicker than most, they stretch at the handles a little too much. Im moving the rating from five to four stars only because they need to be a little thicker mil for five stars.... Increase the thickness from .91 to 1.0mil or more, that will also make the handles a little stronger and worthy of FIVE STARS. FINAL UPDATE 2.5 YEARS LATER: They made these bags 1.02 mils! The added thickness from .91 to 1.02 mils is a marginal thickness increase but one that has noticeably increased the strength, particularly of the midsection area. Also, it seems the handles are slightly stronger and less prone to stretching. Its possible they made the handles slightly wider, but they now pinch a little less when holding. Its great- a company listens and improves. And these are made in the USA. While the bags are expensive, if you buy the large pack, 270 size, the cost drops way down to about 11cents each. A good product is now a great one- Im upgrading the rating to FIVE STARS!

> 3 dayWe bought a Krusher (trash can with compacting lid). Once you put the bag in, it would trap air on the sides reducing space. Also if you compacted too much, the bag would rip. I randomly found these Hipposak trash bags at the grocery store. Were pricey but I wanted to take advantage of my trash can features. These trash bags were perfect! The handles acted in two ways. One they made it easier to pull the bag out with one hand while holding the trash can down with the other. Secondly, the handles providing openings for air to easily escape when you compacted the trash. As far as durability, I have been using these for about 6 months now and not one has ripped or punctured. I started buying these on Amazon because I can buy them in bulk and it makes them the same price as a name brand bag. These trash bags and my trash can have made life easier. We do not make a ton of trash but we live in a townhome that requires a good walk to dispose of the trash. So no worries here. We take the trash out less and do not have to worry about breaks on the way to the outdoor trash can.

> 3 dayThese bags have a slight scent that smells good to me and doesnt offput my husband who hates trash bags with scents. The bags are sturdy, durable and the handles make it so easy to place and remove from the kitchen trash bin. Our go-to bags!

> 3 dayI dont write reviews often, but I feel compelled to for this item. I have used these bags exclusively for over six years. As in, tried these once and have refused to purchase another brand since. I have a family of three and we go through a pretty large amount of trash between myself and my two kiddos. I have NEVER had one of these bags break on me. Not when I had a huge charity donation that was really and truly too heavy for a trash bag. Not when the bag got snagged. Not when a pointy object pierced the bag. These bags hold up through EVERYTHING!! I honestly dont pay too much attention to price (I should) so I dont know where the cost compares to typical grocery store bags, but I know that I honestly dont care. As long as these are available, Ill never buy anything else. The durability, mixed with the stretch, the easy-tie handles, and the ability to purchase in large quantities makes it SO worth it.

> 3 dayAs far as Im concerned these are the best garbage bags in the history of the universe. Theyre strong, they are roomy & actually fit the garbage can. The handles are for real functional for carrying & for tying the bags shut. I like these so much that theyre the only item that I have subscribed to auto ship. The big box lasts my family of 4 about 6 months. I never knew Id be so excited about garbage bags. *EDIT* Ive taken a star away from my original review, because the price has skyrocket. Theyre still the best, its just that theyre no longer a great value.

> 3 dayI like the size of the bags, how sturdy they are and so easy to lift because of the built-in handles.

> 3 dayThese compare to the discontinued Glad handle trash bags. Strong bags at a decent price. Will continue to purchase.
