The fan is fine BUT the base will not get tight because the watcher or what ever you call it will not tighten up it turns some and then just locks

Do not buy someone elses problem. You think I will save $$ but then you need to return it for a new one.

After less than a year of minimal usage the fan is no longer quiet. It rattles and makes a ticking sound, even on the lowest speed setting, and yes the base connection is tight. We really liked how quiet it was in the beginning, since this feature was why it was purchased. Cant recommend it if you are looking for a quiet fan.

We have bought at least 5 of these fans!!! We have one in every bedroom! They last a long time. We have replaced them but they have lasted for years. We really like them. Our children & friends come to visit we go see them & then have bought the same fans for their rooms!! Great fans!!

I wanted a quiet fan for my office and this fan is fine at medium speed and up, but at the lower speeds it makes a bit of a grinding/rattling noise. Definitely not a smooth sound like I would expect of a fan. Unfortunate really. It doesnt look broken, the box arrived in fine condition. Im unsure if thats how it is or if mine is just broken.

PROS: +It has a sleep timer feature, while I haven’t used it it’s an option. +It oscillates and doesn’t bump anything. +It has like 8 different intensity/cool settings. +It has a “Refresh” setting, which is useful for growers and smokers. +The “White Noise” setting is useful for many applications. +It is relatively light weight so it’s easy to move when cleaning. +It doesn’t tip over easily.(Though I don’t have pets or children running around, so Good Luck.). +It is slender and fits into most spaces, so it’s great for limited space such as small apartments or lofts. +*It’s quiet enough that it doesn’t set off my gaming headset and it’s sat roughly 5ft away from me. +It does seem to actually help cool the air with its “Cool” & “Power Cool” settings. +It hasn’t started violently shaking. CONS: -It doesn’t have an adjustable height. Basically the only way to elevate it is to set it atop a stand or table. (Though like I mentioned it is relatively light in weight and it doesn’t shake, so a nightstand or small end table is a perfect fix if you have the availability.) -*It isn’t the quietest on some of its lower settings. (I’m hard of hearing and don’t mind noises when I sleep, but even I find it to be a little loud on the lower settings.) I felt the product was worth the money. It has some very simple to follow instructions for assembly. Though there are less than 10 pieces including the remote. worth it if you’re a gamer looking to stay cool, or even just to circulate air throughout an apartment. I would say it Is not durable enough to be used in a garage/shop/barn setting. Though I would buy again.

It says it’s powerful but have not found it to be the case. The capacity is limited. It’s a smaller fan than I anticipated based on the website description it is not as efficient either.

Another Edit: I have since got another fan from another company called Dreo, which are right here on Amazon. Now that fan was quiet. Way more quiet then any of these Quietset fans I got.. the first or the replacements. So my suggestion, skip honeywell and go look at the Dreo tower fans. Much better. **Update to My Original Review that is below** So I changed my star Rating for the fan from 2 Stars Down to 1. Honeywell, as a company, has been good at sending replacements and working with me, however, they cant seem to get me a model of this fan that actually works as it should. The first replacement had a loud buzz to it, the second replacent had a bad rumble to it, and now the third replacement, which I received today, is quieter, however in 3 out of the 8 modes available, there is this big vibrating rumble you can feel in the floor, and hear. Very Annoying. The motor is still loud even in sleep mode, although this is the first one I can almost deal with the noise the motor makes. Do yourself a favor -- skip this fan. A good warranty is good, but its useless if the model sucks so bad that everytime they send you one it has a problem with it. ** End of Edit ** Short / Quick version: Pros: Looks great, Slim, lightweight, Remote Control responds well, a decent amount of air, easy to put together, Honeywell has awesome (if not slow) customer service! Cons: -- Dealbreaker for me: Annoying motor noise cancels out any quietness you get -- the questionable build quality of base you put together Long Version: I ordered this fan due to recommendations for it on almost every page I looked up fans on. I was looking for a quiet and cool setting to watch tv with it and to sleep with a quieter fan. I had an older Honeywell tower fan which is awesome, minus the top panel stopped working and you have to use the remote, its still useful to this day. It was just noisy, and I lost a lot of features with that top panel of buttons not working. So I figured its time for an upgrade, and with all those recommendations and the luck I had with this other Honeywell I have had for many many years, I got this fan. - The initial hookup and impression - After receiving one fan that was broken, I got this one and it seemed in good shape. I set it up, which was easy. The base is a little worrisome on build quality, but if you are careful snapping it together, it shouldnt be an issue. Then I plugged it in and turned it on. This was when the disappointment started. - Quiet (Or not?) - The sleep mode had very little air noise. Great. However, there is this annoying vibration motor buzzing noise that makes up for it. All I heard was BUUUZUUZUZUUZUZUZUZUZUUUUZUZUZUZUZUZU (yeah, like that). It drove me nuts. Id rather have a noisy tower fan with lots of air noise. I turned it up to level 5, (which is called Relax), which is what I consider the first power setting and it sounded more like a normal fan then. However, after a few seconds, it starts this weird vibration noise again. THUMTHUMTHUMTHUMTHUM but make it like x100 faster than how you can say it with your mouth. Not as annoying, but still annoying. If I were to squeeze the fan with my hands, the noise would stop, which to me suggests a problem with something loose or a design issue with handling vibrations from the motor. I contacted Amazon, being annoyed because this was my second fan, and was graciously given a refund. - Feedback to Honeywell - Being very disappointed, I contacted Honeywell and conveyed my disappointment with this product. They responded by asking me a few questions and then to my surprise sent me a new one, no charge or anything. I have now received yet another one of these Fans, and guess what. IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING! So this has to be a design issue, or Im the unluckiest person in the world when it comes to fans. Is it useful? Sure. Is it worthy of being called a Quietset? Not in my eyes. It may make less air noise than many other fans, but that motor vibration buzz sound is just too much for me. I cant say if this would be as annoying to you other customers or not, but its definitely not as quiet as I was led to believe. - Performance and Design - The power is pretty good. People say its weak, but in my moderate-sized bedroom, I think it does pretty well. If it wasnt for that noise, it would be perfect for me. The design itself though is pretty well done. It looks nice, and its very skinny and lightweight. The LED on top isnt that bad, you can turn it way down via the button on the control panel and I didnt find it intrusive at night at all. So overall, if I could do it again, I wouldnt purchase this fan. Its just not worth it, especially for the price. The annoying vibration motor noise is just too much. So since I have it, I will make use of it in the noisy times of my residence in the noisiest of areas or at least with a lot of traffice, but for what I was looking for in my bedroom, it looks like I will have to look elsewhere.

Overall a great product. A large variety of speeds and runs relatively quiet at all of them; oscillates with a wide range and fits great in a corner to provide airflow to a medium sized room when you want to cool down but dont need to turn on the a/c. My only gripe is that the base feels cheap and flimsy. The fan itself will outlast its mount for sure.
