> 3 dayOrdered one. It arrived with a rattle on the lower settings. Returned it and got a replacement. 2nd one rattled slightly less so I kept it. Clearly the fan is not built well enough or packaged well enough to be shipped. Probably a fine in person buy but it’s definitely not going to work 100% if you get it through the mail.

> 3 dayI had this fan in my children’s room and smelled a burning plastic smell and it turned out to be the fan I bought a few months before. Didn’t last 6 months & when I asked for a replacement or refund I was told to contact the company not Amazon. No one helped me so we’re out $70 . Cant imagine what wouldve happened if I didn’t find this sooner .

> 3 dayThis is a very good fan, the blowing power is amazing keeps it nice and cool in the room. My only complaint is when I ordered the black unit it said it came with a mini tower table fan when I got my package only one box was delivered, so I called Amazon and Amazon told me “well no that’s part of the description you do not actually get a mini tower fan.” Save yourself $20 and buy the white one It’ll still work the same. Would not even offer to credit the difference. I was told to return and order the white one if I wanted the $20 back. Do better Amazon. :-(

> 3 dayFirst reviewed on August 19th, 2019: I purchased this Honeywell HYF290B tower fan for a hallway in my home. I have window air conditioners in my exercise room and living room, and I wanted to disperse the air a little more evenly as the exercise room stays cold while the hallway is noticeably warmer. I had been using a small box fan to blow air into the room to circulate cold air into the hallway, but it is very old, and I knew there had to be a better option somewhere on Amazon. Tower fans caught my eye because they oscillate, or rotate back and forth. This means it can alternate blowing air into my exercise room and down the hall, which should be great for circulation. In practice, the fan is ineffective because it doesnt blow very hard, even on the highest setting. The name of the fan is Quietset, and in that regard, it excels. It has 8 speeds, sleep, whisper, and calm, all the way up to Power Cool. All of the fan modes are very quiet, but thats because they arent blowing much air at all. I can hold my hand two-and-a-half feet in front of the fan and not feel it blowing on the highest setting. I moved the fan to the center of the hallway, away from the wall, to make sure it wasnt starved for air on the intake in the back, and it still didnt blow very much air. I set it up to test it for a few days and realized the discrepancy between the exercise room temperature and the hallway temperature was greater with this tower fan than with my old mini-box fan. I purchased this tall fan expecting a tower of air, and it simply doesnt provide it. On the positive side, the fan seems to be well built. It has a relatively small profile, and it is very quiet. It includes a remote and 7 levels of power. The light is dimmable, so it may be useful in a bedroom just to keep the air from getting stale at night in a room with no ceiling fan. I cant recommend it for any other application, and I wish I had saved the box to send it back. 2/5 stars UPDATE: June 30, 2020, I moved to a new home in November of 2019 and brought this fan with me. When setting it up, I noticed that the housing wasn’t secure, and one piece of the plastic was pushed in on the side (see updated photo). I didn’t know if this had occurred during the move or prior to it. I pushed it back together so that the sides were air tight and used the fan again. This time, there was a solid stream of air coming out of the front of the fan, which now meets my performance expectations. I have it 15 feet away in the living room and can feel a strong breeze on the highest setting, but it is still quiet enough that it is not annoying or distracting. The best part is that it comes with a remote control, so I was able to program it into my Logitech Harmony 650 and 660 remotes (purchased on Amazon) so I can control it across the room. I am able to see the lights on top to know what speed setting it is on. The oscillation works well. Overall, I am supremely satisfied with the fan now and highly recommend it. 5/5 stars

> 3 daySo far! I love this fan! It has continually performed well for over a year and when I say continually I mean every day and mostly all the hours Im in my bedroom year round. Its quiet, I like the many settings and the option to dim and turn off the light is a real bonus at bedtime. Ive been traumatized each of the three times I knocked it over and it bounced off the floor. No problems. Whew. Its still quiet and youd never know it fell. I bought another tower fan from Costco at a lower price than this one for the kitchen and that one is a piece of junk compared to this one. Ive become one of those people who cant sleep without a fan running because of this purchase. The timer is a bonus too though I rarely use it. 100% very satisfied consumer!

> 3 dayFirst of all, let me say what a nice-looking fan this is. I spent too much time picking the decor for my little abode to want to have an ugly fan sitting around! Of course, right now, I have it sitting in the doorway of my bedroom (classy, I know!) because Im seeing how well it cools the room down. As for the rest of the positives: This fan is SOOOO quiet that, at first, I doubted that it would be very cooling. I was wrong. Once I got this assembled (very easy, btw) & figured out the controls (not too hard), I turned my AC off! LOL Being from Alaska, this Iowa heat and humidity is taking some getting used to. Also, Im not very familiar with AC and the costs (except for a horrendous bill in Arizona several years back). My apartment is a nice-sized 1 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchen and living room. There is a ceiling fan in bedroom, but at night, it still can get warm. Since this fan is doing so great at cooling the whole front of the apartment, I plan to put it in doorway of bedroom during the nights. With my AC off right now, I am totally comfortable. Its only 75 degrees out this morning, so I will see how well this helps when the temps rise (the other day, it was around 90). Even if I have to use this in conjunction with AC, I will be able to power the AC down a bit to help with the bill. By the way, having a remote will be super nice - when I get the AAA batteries that were not included. A plus is that the remote stores so neatly in the back of the fan. NOTE: For assembly, its easier it you follow the pictures/directions on the box flap rather than using the booklet. The booklet makes it seem more complicated than it really is.

> 3 dayw/PExitBR/Es: Quickie Review: I use all 3 at once/multiple rooms to quietly circulate air, especially bedroom. Lower settings are VERY quiet. Higher settings can be heard, but still quieter than ceiling/traditional options. Big fan of what they do for me in the bedroom & elsewhere, quieter options meet my needs regularly. Higher price worth it in long run given AC usage at higher temp settings. Who doesnt love having multiple options vs going back to the same old tired things that rarely, never get the job done when youre really hot? (If youre laughing, cynically rolling eyes, etc., its only going to get more punnier. :D) Q-FCS: Ive been burned by doing it online before, but I like what Im seeing. Some say really nice things too, but its always like that starting out. Looking for advice via highly experienced individual. Is it too good to be true? Please help. w/PExitBR/E: Funny you mention burning! Even living in Texas, hot-flashes still exist (its true)! Noise, hot, etc., wakes me up. No quality bedroom time is not cool! Quiet, effective, help w/elec. bill, etc., all very important to me. Ive had too many one-nighters in the past w/other fans (*hangs head in shame*), but this Honey & I have been going at it for a couple months now...all 4 of us (3 fans, 1 less flashy me). Remote, Sleeper function, etc., all great additions. Remote control can be snapped on/in space provided near top of fan. Though love is in my cooler, circulating air (& base design helps), these guys can suffer cheap date syndrome (wobble, fall over) if bumped into (pets, kids, 3am, dark journey to bathroom or kitchen, etc.,). However, these tall boys make up for it 10-fold. At higher fan modes w/their height, other options, they are very helpful in the bathroom, other rooms too (drying out a bathroom project, and way quieter than bigger shop fans). Even post tumble(s), they work great & are still durable & quiet. I dont know if theyre Mr. Right(s), but I do know its July in Texas & Mr. Right(s) Now works just fine. Worth the $$$. Pics were accurate, showed up looking great (package, shipping, etc.,) & easy to assemble. w/PExitBR/Es Overall Rating/Review: NO Morning After WALK OF SHAME; 4.333 AMAZONIAN GOLD STARS!!! PS-Pic/Video Requests for Fan action (1 or more) w/Tall, Silent Honey in my bedroom will not be replied to (probably). :P

> 3 dayEven though it’s my favorite van, the first three settings are all the same airflow.
