Honeywell QuietSet Whole Room Tower Fan-Black, HYF290B

Look, fans never ever come with 100% perfection. It’s a fan. Being realistic about expectations, I actually expected it to be louder considering the previous fan I had was supposed to be higher tech and cost more, but this fan is less expensive (this exact fan is $5 more at Target as of this week!!) and it’s quieter, has more setting options, and is taller which is great for laying in bed and getting the effects. There’s 8 settings so everyone can find a temperature that agrees with them. Even the highest setting is doable in terms noise and being able to sleep or watch tv and have it still be a reasonably comforting sound. The remote is great, simple and easy to use. The fan oscillates, has a sleep timer, the light is a very chill blue. It’s all good. The only things I don’t like or understand are: 1) the base is not super sturdy. If you see how lightweight the whole thing is, and the base is even lighter, and so narrow, there’s no way it can be super sturdy. It also doesn’t attach very sturdily. However it’s NOT just going to oscillate and fly off the base. You just need to be aware that it’s not a super securely connected base. 2) the header says tower fan + mini fan…that is misleading. It’s just the one piece (the big tower fan).

I was skeptical when I bought it because I didn’t think it would cool all as quickly as it does and it’s quiet unless you crank it up. Right now I. Sitting probably 10-12 feet away and I can feel the cool breeze. Just bought another one for the bedroom which is upstairs and as most two floor homes it’s always hotter on the second floor. Hope it works as well.

I was disappointed when I opened this fan - The base is very cheap and flimsy. It didnt stay together to put the fan on. But once I did get the fan on it seems to hold it. The fan itself is ok. The speeds all work and dont make a lot of noisy even on high. On any speed you can still hear people talking or the TV and you do not have to raise your voice or turn the TV up. It blows out a lot of air as you set it higher and the highest speed can be felt 3 away maybe a little more. It does oscillate and has a dimming feature. The cord to plug it in is 5. The remote that is included is very cheap and small. It does require 2 AAA batteries not included. It worked fine that morning, but when we went to use it that night it did not work. Contacted customer service and they were very nice, prompt and helpful. But they did let me know that the remote was not a warranty item, but they would send me one as a curtesy. Also that if I would have got someone else they might not have sent me a new one. The new remote arrived very fast and works. Over all its an ok fan but when it breaks I would not purchase this one again.

This remote has poor range and the buttoms are hard to use. You have to press them exactly right or they dont work. The fan was quiet at first but after about 4 months it started to get noisy.

This is a very good fan, the blowing power is amazing keeps it nice and cool in the room. My only complaint is when I ordered the black unit it said it came with a mini tower table fan when I got my package only one box was delivered, so I called Amazon and Amazon told me “well no that’s part of the description you do not actually get a mini tower fan.” Save yourself $20 and buy the white one It’ll still work the same. Would not even offer to credit the difference. I was told to return and order the white one if I wanted the $20 back. Do better Amazon. :-(

It’s nice I like the looks of it all the controls and the remote are cool but I wish it would blow more air :(

I would give this fan 5 stars but I never received the table fan that is advertised with the tower fan. Amazon sent a replacement set with the intent the 2nd tower fan to be returned. Again, it arrived without the table fan. The tower fan isnt the most powerful at high speed but it is WONDERFUL for sleeping. It has 8 speeds and is nearly silent at the lower speeds simulating a gentle breeze. Great for sleeping. It is also more slender than other tower fans so it fits in smaller spaces. I would like to review the table fan but cant seem to get it delivered.....

purchased this tower fan on June 28th 2020, honey well being a trusted brand I felt confident. initially the fan worked great, quiet, powerful, very nice. by the 2nd or 3rd day it started to function oddly. would turn off by itself, oscillate on its own, speed settings would change without touch the controls. I believe the remote for my tv was the cause of the issue, perhaps a cross of frequencies. would work ok if I didnt point the tv remote towards the fan. I can live with that. by the 5th or 6th day the fan itself just stopped working. the control panel and remote were still live and you could see the settings being changed however the actual fan blades would not spin therefore the unit would produce no air flow. quite disappointed to say the least. In light of this inconvenience amazon took care of the issue quite well. sent me a replacement model the following business day at no charge pending the return of the defective model. I have sent back the original order and now have the replacement. so far it is working great and I hope to not have an problems 2nd time around. despite that first fan being defective I am willing to try another one and amazon has provided excellent customer service.

I like the number of different speeds, it’s quite I had no problems with any of them.
