HP Psc 1510 All-in-one Printer

I bought this because i also had a 1000 series all-in-one a few years back and it worked great back in those days. Sadly this printer does not live up to its predecessors... like... not even close. Although printing speed is faster and the quality standard, its harder to use because the software is slow with confusing interface and takes up alot of memory for simple tasks. but the worst part is that, the paper wont even feed. and if it does it jams or takes a couple of paper in at the same time and prints all over them. each time i had to keep pressing resume about twice. never again with HP... im dissapointed. something so simple became so hard

Ive had this printer for about a year and a half and I can honestly say this is the worst printer I have ever used. Sure the quality of the printing is fine if you can actually get it to print. The first printer I had printed fine but whenever I scanned anything there was a huge 1-2 black line down the side of the page. I talked to the service people online who were helpful but they couldnt do anything to fix it so they sent me a new one and I sent the one I had back. The new printer worked fine for a little while. It ran out of ink so fast I thought maybe the jets were clogged or something. I didnt even use it that often, maybe 10-20 pages a month, if that. After about a month or two with the second printer it wouldnt feed the paper anymore. No, I wasnt using anything special, just normal 8 1/2 x 11 standard printer paper. If I wanted to print something Id have to sit there and try to manually feed each sheet which inevitably took at least 2 tries per page. I couldnt turn off the printer either, well unless I wanted to print yet another test page. I also couldnt get it to stop doing this. The most frustrating part is that Id finally get the dang thing to print only to have the ink run out again. Ive resorted to just handwriting stuff that I need off the computer lately because its faster and less aggravating that trying to get this piece of junk to work. Why dont I send this one back too? Well, because I dont use this thing very often and the warranty doesnt last that long, Im not paying for a third crappy printer that they are likely to send. Im just going to cut my losses at this point and buy a new one... NOT HP!

So, being a college student on a budget I was in desperate need of a printer for school. So I thought I would save myself some money and buy myself a printer. I have to admit I was a little weary of buying a used electronic for so cheap because I was afraid that someone was selling me a dud printer. But I decided to take the chance anyway because the price was unbeatable. It arrived the in the earlier end of the expected delivery date. I opened the box and found that the printer was really dirty. Obviously noone had used this printer in a while, so I took so wipes and cleaned it up. In the description it noted that it didnt come with ink, but I didnt remember a thing about it saying it didnt come with program disc, so when I saw a box just filled with cords and a printer, I was a little disappointed. Luckily HP is set up so you can just download the programs you need for your printer. Anyway, my main complaint would only be the program missing and how dirty it was when it arrived, either than that I am satisfied with the printer, and glad I took the chance of buying it :D.

I have had my printer for about 10 or 11 months. I have had very minor problems with the paper feeding through; it has never jammed, but sometimes it does feed through more than one sheet at a time. The only thing about this printer that does really frustrate me is that after I replaced my black ink cartridge with another (and it was genuine HP ink), my printer now prints a test page every time I turn it on, without fail. I havent been able to figure out why or how to stop it. But other than that, Im happy with my printer. The print quality is very good, and my issues with the printer feeding through more than one piece of paper at a time rarely happens.

This printer was an absolute nightmare. It cant detect when theres paper, so every time you print you have to push the paper in, otherwise an error message pops up telling you to add paper. And if you push too hard, the printer jams. Im normally a pretty calm person, but dealing with this printer actually made me want to throw it out the window. Printing a 3 page essay took a good twenty minutes (for the reasons above) and sometimes even made me late for my classes. The printer wastes ink excessively on stupid alignment sheets that it coughs out whenever its turned on, which I wouldnt really mind that much if the ink wasnt so expensive. If youre looking for a printer, please dont consider this one.

This product totally sucks! I have to agree with 100% of the other negative reviews on this product when it comes to the paper feed. One word of advise ... DONT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!! Another word of advise ... Dont use the online chat help function when contacting HP! When the printer first started to fail I had to hand feed the paper. Then after the printer sat for 3-4 months because I was out of ink ... Then once I replaced the ink the paper would not feed at all. After spending two hours online with a tech person he couldnt help. Then I couldnt get any assistance on the phone. Im now trying to get my money back for the $35.00 I just spent on ink. Wish me luck!

I went shopping for a reasonably priced printer to get some basic prints out, and I ended up picking up the HP-PSC 1510. Ive owned this piece of garbage for a year now, and the only way to keep myself from wasting time trying to get it to work was to simply throw it in the trash. Today I needed to print a single page, with a simple color picture on it and some basic text. As usual the text smeared (even after following ALL of the Help and Suggestion tips from the manual AND the HP website) which is acceptable, but the picture had lines through it and the colors were insane. I followed the instructions on the HP website to try and calibrate the colors - to no avail. I then tried to print out a test page, and the feed mechanism wasnt working, again. I spent an hour reading from the HP website about how to diagnose and perhaps fix the paper feed mechanism since that has NEVER really worked right. I figured enough is enough, and I simply picked up the HP-PSC 1510 and dropped it into the trash can - the single satisfying experience Ive had to date with this printer. - Feed mechanism errors: you have to TRICK the printer into actually accepting paper, and it usually DRAGS paper in at a weird angle - producing very inconsistent prints. If you are trying to print a report, every page will appear to have different margins. - Smearing of ink on final prints: no matter what quality setting I use or what program I use to print (including the most up-to-date HP printing software), text smears - sometimes so bad that it hurts your eyes to read more than a page of anything printed by the HP-PSC 1510. - Build quality is worse than that of dollar store plastic toy: while tinkering with the HP-PSC 1510 (trying to get the feed mechanism to work) I had a good look at the printer, and over all Id be generous to call the build quality shabby. - Photos were decent: this is the only area where the printer wasnt HORRIBLE. The feed mechanism didnt seem to have a problem accepting glossy photo paper, and the prints werent bad, but werent good. Ink blotted and discoloration was present after an hour, but that was perhaps one out of five photographs printed by the HP-PSC 1510 using HP software. I own an HP laptop and havent had any issues with it so far, in fact its one of the best laptops Ive worked with so far (dollar for dollar) - which makes me wonder if they put together their laptops and printers in different manufacturing plants, or even different countries. I cant be bothered to waste my time finding out, but Im amazed at the vast difference in build quality between the two. Suffice to say Ill NEVER be buying an HP printer again, and I advise anyone who is looking for a new printer to buy anything except HP.

Id give this pile of junk a negative 2 star rating if I could, but apparently 1 star is the lowest rating permitted by Amazon. Allow me to rant on . . . Id like to echo the sentiments expressed by several others. We have several HP all-in-one type PhotoSmart printers (7000 series and 8000 series) and this one (4000 series) is the runt of the bunch (we paid $99 for this box of bolts). It worked for about two months then started to freeze up and display out of paper error messages. It really doesnt work at all now and wont even shut off when you use the power button. Every once in a while Ill crank this puppy up to see if I can resurrect it and occasionally it will print out a page or two before paper jams and out of paper error messages send it back into its routine of blinking lights, non-response and non-operation, I have to unplug the darn thing just to turn it off. What a dog! The main problem seems to be with the inadequate engineering and materials quality on the paper tray/feeder and the overly sensitive and poorly tuned sensor associated with the paper supply. HP obviously must be aware of this and if they cared about their customers they would offer to replace this mutt with a new printer (they certainly are making their money on the ink cartridges!) Like a fool I stocked up on the ink cartridges only to find out I am now stuck with them because no other newer printer from HP uses these exact cartridges. What a scam!

Great printer for a dorm room. I have access to a high volume laser printer, so I use the high volume for a lot of huge prints, but use my HP for 4-6 page prints. This printer scans great and prints very quickly, but goes through ink fast! Good for quick printing, but I never print more than 10 or so pages at a time because it goes through cartridges so fast. If you have access to a high volume printer on a network and want a printer for ease of use, then I recommend this printer 100%. Its a great printer but discouraging to always be buying new ink cartridges.

This product does everything I want it to do. Initially, I had a problem setting it up but that was my fault. The technical team at Quality Printers walked me through the set up and I am very happy for their support. I would encourage anybody who is thinking of a printer or other computer related products to talk to Quality Printers first. You wont be disappointed. Sincerely, Dana Weishaar
