    I have had several different brands of baby monitors in the past 4 years and this one is by far my favorite. It has all of the abilities that are important to me in a bay monitor...pan-tilt-zoom, the ability to toggle between several rooms, temperature gauge, the ability to be speak from the parent unit to the camera, great battery life etc. I had this unit for a little over a year when the power button stopped working. I called Infant Optics and they went through the troubleshooting process with me and determined that it needed to be replaced. I was technically a month out out of the warranty, but the customer service representative who helped me with this case was kind enough to replace it for free anyways. She was even able to get me expedited 2-day shipping (worth about $10) for free and I got my replacement unit extremely quickly, which is important when you want to be able to see and hear your children. I have honestly never had a better experience with customer service from any company before. The woman I spoke to truly went above and beyond to rectify the situation. I can say without any hesitation that I would highly recommend this product and this company!

    This was an add on camera for my second child. I had a small issue with the charger on my first camera (it made a high pitched noise), and Infant Optics sent me a replacement charger. After approximately 6 months with the second camera, it started to get difficult to see my son in the dark; it still worked fine if the room was well lit. It gradually got worse and worse until we couldnt see him at all anymore with night vision. I contacted Infant Optics and they were great about sending me a replacement camera. My only issue is that I had to pay return shipping, and had to send the camera back before they sent a new one, so I was without a camera for a couple days. They did provide expedited shipping, so the new camera came quickly.

    I have had this monitor since my first child, 3years ago, and absolutely love it! The quality is the best I’ve seen of all my friends different brand monitors. The picture quality and sound is amazing. I love the ease of camera add on and how it scans my kids rooms. Customer service has always been extremely helpful when needing assistance! I would absolutely buy again and recommend to all new moms!

    UPDATE: I absolutely HATE this monitor system. First, this company is inflating their reviews by including a message in the box for the device that asks customers to post a review in exchange for a free second camera (valued at $99 here on Amazon). We played along because we needed a second camera. I hate that I’m probably part of what has made this company so successful. My best friend just bought this monitor because of the reviews even though I continue to talk her into returning it! Ugh! The picture on this monitor is awful quality! We used to have a Summer monitor that was so much better quality. I do like the interchangeable wide angle lens (the only thing I like—which you’ll pay an extra $20 to own). I hate that the speaker for this unit is on the BACK! You have to lay it on its face to hear at night. Standing it up risks it falling over and you not being able to hear. But if you are worried about hearing your kids, you shouldn’t buy from this company at ALL! We just discovered today that if you have the monitor on scan and a camera gets unplugged, it stays on that camera (the unplugged one) and STOPS scanning. We woke up to find our baby covered in dried vomit. It was everywhere like he had been crying for us. Did we hear him? No. By strange coincidence, the monitor in my daughter’s room was unplugged. The monitor was only showing her unplugged warning screen instead of switching to my son’s room. What a terrible flaw! In the product’s defense, I had turned off the alarm feature (not understanding it). I turned the alarm back on high and recreated the scenario to find out that the unplugged monitor does create an alarm, but the camera stays on the warning screen and does stop scanning. So angry about my baby being put through all that. If you still decide to buy this piece of junk, don’t turn the alarm off ever! But seriously, find something else. I am so sorry we bought this and even sorrier that we kept it after we realized this company was scamming the Amazon reviews! INITIAL REVIEW: We purchased this monitor system over the weekend and found the set up was easy. We added on an additional camera today to try the whole thing out and it seems to work well for us so far. Pairing the new camera was simple. I like how the camera can point at a lower angle than our previous Summer monitor. Downsides are that I wish it could do split screen and automatically stay on a camera if sound is detected. I prefer that instead of scanning. Another downside is that the monitor light seemed a bit bright in our room last night. I wish there were a way to turn it down or off. Overall though, it appears to be at least as good as our old Summer monitor and probably a bit better.

    I was so excited to get this monitor. I am a new grandmother and didnt know what to expect with a monitor today but comparing this to the ones when my children were little is like night and day. Not only can I see the baby, I am alerted by sound when she wakes up or is beginning to wake. So nice to know the DXR-8 is on the job night or day. It is peace of mind for me to know what is going on with the baby at any time. It has many nice features and is easy to operate, I even bought another camera to connect to the system for a new baby sister coming. So nice to use in a playroom also, for those quick trips out of the room to answer the door etc. Everyone should have at least one of these in there home!

    We have 2 cameras and one monitor for our two kids. We love the monitor especially for the talk function where we can talk back and forth with our toddler through the monitor with this camera. Using a second camera while maintaining only 1 monitor has been very convenient for us. We have been very impressed with the customer service. We had an issue with our power cord to the camera, and they replied very promptly to us and rectified the situation very well. This camera (along with the monitor) is definitely worth the price both in function and customer service if anything is needed in the future.

    Obviously buying a baby camera is always worrisome. I Had one camera that had to be returned because the wire that supplied the power made a humming noise and I felt that it was unsafe, I had no issue with a return and they sent me another camera. I have 2 cameras and i would definitely but the cameras again. I highly recommend the wide Lens it is worth the money. I bought both lenses for my cameras. As for distance on the camera the babies room is on the right side of the house on the second floor, I have walked to my neighbors house and been inside his house and still had reception I did have to put the antenna up on the unit. If I stand on the opposite side of my neighbors house I would estimate that this is a total of 30-40 yards from the far side of my house to the far side of my neighbors house and I still had reception.

    I have two of these cameras for monitoring my baby. They cameras were easy to set up and the monitor is easy to use. Within the first year one of the two cameras stopped working properly. The night time sensors stopped working so we could not see the picture clearly in the dark. We contacted the company for a replacement because it was within the warranty period and the provided us a replacement that works great. The process to exchange the camera was very easy and the new camera arrived two days after we shipped out the defective unit. The only issue was the company did not provide a shipping box for us to send back the defective unit in and we had to send out the old unit before they would ship the replacement. So we had go without a camera to monitor our baby for two days which is something that I think is really unacceptable to ask parents to do. The company should really ship out the replacement first along with a return box and just require the defective unit to be returned within 30 days. Many other companies do this so I know it’s possible. The camera works great and if there is a problem the company will help you resolve it, I just can’t give a 5 star review because the company asked us to go without a way to watch our baby for those two days.

    I got this camera on cyber Monday while I was pregnant for a great price. They arent on sale every year but I paid full price to add an additional camera to the circuit, its worth it. I read so many reviews and the quality and customer service seemed to be the best. The battery is decent but youll want to leave it plugged in if you are using it overnight when baby is in another room. If used just for naps we charge the monitor once or twice a week. It has a good range, its still connected 3 floors down. The only weird thing is if your phone is close to the monitor, the wifi messes with the signal I think. Reasonable camera cord length. Weve had this system for 6 months and it works great, I highly recommend it.

    We’ve gone through three of these monitors in three years. The first one didn’t hold a charge after a few months of use. The second, same issue. We ordered a replacement battery, it still wouldn’t stay charged and always had to be attached to the wall charger. The third has worked better for us, however often drops the signal in our home. Very annoying, especially when we get the ‘out of signal range’ beep over and over in the middle of the night, when we’re right next to our kids’ room. Overall, I’m happy with the monitor - picture quality is good and I like the fact that you can have multiple cameras. Also like that I can talk through the monitor. Just a few small (annoying) bugs that may need to be worked out.
