> 3 dayUPDATE: I absolutely HATE this monitor system. First, this company is inflating their reviews by including a message in the box for the device that asks customers to post a review in exchange for a free second camera (valued at $99 here on Amazon). We played along because we needed a second camera. I hate that I’m probably part of what has made this company so successful. My best friend just bought this monitor because of the reviews even though I continue to talk her into returning it! Ugh! The picture on this monitor is awful quality! We used to have a Summer monitor that was so much better quality. I do like the interchangeable wide angle lens (the only thing I like—which you’ll pay an extra $20 to own). I hate that the speaker for this unit is on the BACK! You have to lay it on its face to hear at night. Standing it up risks it falling over and you not being able to hear. But if you are worried about hearing your kids, you shouldn’t buy from this company at ALL! We just discovered today that if you have the monitor on scan and a camera gets unplugged, it stays on that camera (the unplugged one) and STOPS scanning. We woke up to find our baby covered in dried vomit. It was everywhere like he had been crying for us. Did we hear him? No. By strange coincidence, the monitor in my daughter’s room was unplugged. The monitor was only showing her unplugged warning screen instead of switching to my son’s room. What a terrible flaw! In the product’s defense, I had turned off the alarm feature (not understanding it). I turned the alarm back on high and recreated the scenario to find out that the unplugged monitor does create an alarm, but the camera stays on the warning screen and does stop scanning. So angry about my baby being put through all that. If you still decide to buy this piece of junk, don’t turn the alarm off ever! But seriously, find something else. I am so sorry we bought this and even sorrier that we kept it after we realized this company was scamming the Amazon reviews! INITIAL REVIEW: We purchased this monitor system over the weekend and found the set up was easy. We added on an additional camera today to try the whole thing out and it seems to work well for us so far. Pairing the new camera was simple. I like how the camera can point at a lower angle than our previous Summer monitor. Downsides are that I wish it could do split screen and automatically stay on a camera if sound is detected. I prefer that instead of scanning. Another downside is that the monitor light seemed a bit bright in our room last night. I wish there were a way to turn it down or off. Overall though, it appears to be at least as good as our old Summer monitor and probably a bit better.

Greater than one weekI would definitely recommend this camera. However, my only complaint is that the green light (which helps with the night vision and serves as a light sensor) is on the bottom of the camera. As a result, if you have the camera perched up high looking down on your little one, it means that less ambient light will pass through the camera forcing it into Black/White mode rather than color. Its not a big deal as you can still see clearly, but id like to see the color screen during naps and Black/White at night time. This is a minor gripe though as the camera sends a very clear picture. In addition, we have not experienced any problems with reception, which is always good news. Previously, we had an old version of the Summer Infant monitor and camera. The summer infant was more expensive and a bit higher quality but this is a good value and gets similar functionality.

> 3 dayThis is our second purchase of these cameras. We bought one for our daughter and an add on camera when our son was born. We love it and it’s easy to use. We like that it does not require Wi-Fi. Great quality product. We are able to scan from camera to camera to view our children at night. Sound quality is great too.

> 3 dayI got this monitor because our other broke shortly before our second baby arrived. I was so happy with how much better quality the picture was than with our previous camera which was terrible! I also loved being able to have multiple cameras for the monitor. Everything was going perftly until late week the monitor stopped working. I was a little annoyed, naturally. But when I reached out to customer service they were quick to tak me through the process to get a replacement shipped out! They were amazing. I just received the replacement today and I’m so happy to have it back. I highly recommend this monitor. The quality is amazing and you can’t beat the customer service!

> 3 dayI bought this camera to ad to already purchased system to be able to monitor couple rooms at the same time. Picture quality is great whether it is a day or night. It gets little grainy with night mode but still very clear. I love the feature that I can adjust it horizontally and vertically via monitor. The unit is not split screen when used with more cameras, but it gives picture in 10 sec intervals between units. Quick shuffle button (OK) is great and helps to switch in need quickly and with ease if you need to choose one, two, or up to four cameras picture, or a scan mode. If you have a cell phone nearby the monitor it will interfere with a signal and unfortunately there is no silence option but you get a rather loud eating noise. This camera doesnt come standard with optical lens but its an option to buy. I currently dont need it so Im happy with how it is. So far Im liking this product and would recommend it to others.

> 3 dayWe have used the Infant Optics DXR-8 for over 2 years. The image is great, including in darkness. We started having trouble with the monitor holding a charge a few months after using it. Then the monitor was making clicking sounds. After contacting customer support, they were able to walk me through readjusting the monitor battery. Since then, the monitor has held a charge fine. Also, after much support, it was determined that my camera was the source of the clicking that we were hearing from the monitor. Customer support was great! Even though I was about 2 years past my warranty, they replaced my camera, so it is no longer making the clicking sound. They went the extra mile to keep me as a customer, and I greatly appreciated that level of care.

> 3 dayLove this camera. The “zoom” it further out than our last, the Motorola. Which I love. Our old one was way too zoomed in, even at the furthest setting. I thought the wide angle was included with the new set. but it’s not. Thought we may need it but the regular one works fine. We’re able to see the kids whole bed. Looks like you can add up to 4 camera! That’s cool. I’ll be getting a 3rd

> 3 dayThis is a very good camera for our baby. Weve had no problems with it. Range on the monitor is good, and the battery life is excellent. I also like having a dedicated monitor (as opposed to having to use my phone). My only slight negative is that the night version is slightly blurry, but ultimately, youre seeing in the dark, so what else can you expect? Very good quality overall.
