> 3 dayUPDATE! My love of this camera has slowly and steadily been going downhill. The original charger(which has now been redesigned to solve the issue) would fall out of the port and wouldn’t charge unless I plugged and propped it up with other items to get the perfect angle. I did receive a new parent screen and the updated charger at no cost but it was a pain to be without any monitor for 3-5 days when kids are on another floor. They couldn’t mail it until they received mine. My newest issue is battery life. It would be plugged in and just shut off! I ordered a new battery, followed all of the at home fixes and it is still happening. Seems the problem is when I have it flipping from one of room to another it can’t keep up and just shuts down. If I keep it on only one room all night it stays on. So what’s the purpose of that feature and being able to have up to four cameras? Also, the night vision used to be excellent but now only works in one room, it’s super grainy in the other room to the point that I’m just using it for sound not video. I was so hopeful in this product and sold so many friends on it I’m embarrassed. I am way too invested financially to switch now so we are just riding it out. I now have a 4.5 and 2.5 year old that share a room(night vision doesn’t work in there daytime is great but I don’t need it for daytime) and an 8 month old in his own room but I have to just listen for his cry since I can’t toggle at night. Blah! I researched SO many cameras. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this and love that you can link up to 4. They have been perfect for our 2 1/2 yr old and 7 1/2 mo old!

03-06-2025Love this camera. The “zoom” it further out than our last, the Motorola. Which I love. Our old one was way too zoomed in, even at the furthest setting. I thought the wide angle was included with the new set. but it’s not. Thought we may need it but the regular one works fine. We’re able to see the kids whole bed. Looks like you can add up to 4 camera! That’s cool. I’ll be getting a 3rd

> 3 dayWe have used the Infant Optics DXR-8 for over 2 years. The image is great, including in darkness. We started having trouble with the monitor holding a charge a few months after using it. Then the monitor was making clicking sounds. After contacting customer support, they were able to walk me through readjusting the monitor battery. Since then, the monitor has held a charge fine. Also, after much support, it was determined that my camera was the source of the clicking that we were hearing from the monitor. Customer support was great! Even though I was about 2 years past my warranty, they replaced my camera, so it is no longer making the clicking sound. They went the extra mile to keep me as a customer, and I greatly appreciated that level of care.

> 3 dayI have had several different brands of baby monitors in the past 4 years and this one is by far my favorite. It has all of the abilities that are important to me in a bay monitor...pan-tilt-zoom, the ability to toggle between several rooms, temperature gauge, the ability to be speak from the parent unit to the camera, great battery life etc. I had this unit for a little over a year when the power button stopped working. I called Infant Optics and they went through the troubleshooting process with me and determined that it needed to be replaced. I was technically a month out out of the warranty, but the customer service representative who helped me with this case was kind enough to replace it for free anyways. She was even able to get me expedited 2-day shipping (worth about $10) for free and I got my replacement unit extremely quickly, which is important when you want to be able to see and hear your children. I have honestly never had a better experience with customer service from any company before. The woman I spoke to truly went above and beyond to rectify the situation. I can say without any hesitation that I would highly recommend this product and this company!

Greater than one weekI have generally been happy with this baby monitor, so I purchased the extra camera for it when my wife and I had our second baby a few weeks ago. I wanted to share some thoughts about something I DONT like about this monitor, particularly as it relates to add-on cameras. First Ill explain briefly the issue we had with our previous monitor, then Ill explain how that ties into what we dont like about THIS monitor. My wife and I loved our previous baby monitor, but we ran into issues when our second child was born and we started using the monitor with a second camera. That was when we discovered a quirk with the monitors software. With a single camera we had liked the Eco mode in which the monitors screen and audio would both shut off after about ten seconds of inactivity in our daughters room, then turn back on as soon as sound was detected. The monitor was silent unless our daughter was making noise, and this probably contributed to the monitors fantastic battery life. My wife and I liked this feature especially if were watching a movie or something; we would turn the monitors volume up so that we would easily hear it if our daughter started crying, but it was completely silent otherwise. But when we added a second camera we discovered that when you put the system into scan mode (where the monitor alternates between two or more cameras) Eco mode is no longer a possibility. Instead, the monitor cycles through the cameras for ten seconds each, with the screen ALWAYS on and the speaker constantly emitting a white noise. Aside from the noise being annoying, this also meant that the monitors battery drained MUCH more quickly than before. That was enough to put me back on the search for a new baby monitor. I selected this one on the basis of a huge number of positive reviews, and overall my wife and I are quite pleased with it. Setup was easy, the image quality is great, and we love the ability to pan the cameras. I also like the ability to select, at the touch of a single button, whether to view one camera, the other camera, or to scan between them. What I DONT like is the way the audio works in scan mode. Unlike our previous monitor, the screen on this one can be set to turn off after either 3 or 5 minutes of inactivity, even in the scanning mode. The speaker, however, does NOT turn off, so it is always emitting a white noise. With 2 cameras, this means the speaker alternates between two slightly different white noises every 12 seconds or so. This may not seem like a big deal, but when you are a light sleeper like me, its really annoying! Also, if one of our little ones starts making noise, a monitor gets our attention much more readily if the speaker was formerly silent than if it was already emitting some white noise. Im not sure why the Infant Optics monitor was designed this way. If my children are sleeping quietly, I dont need to hear static white noise transmitted from their rooms. Having said that, I otherwise like this monitor very much, and I can see why it is so popular. I notice Infant Optics responded to customers complaints about the out of range alarm; I wonder if anyone else besides me wishes the speaker could be set to be silent when the screen is off?

> 3 dayI don’t often write reviews, but this company has blown me away with their stellar customer service. A few days ago, my monitor screen begin to freeze when scanning from one camera to the other. I checked, and saw that I was out of warranty for replacement. I emailed the company, and notified them of the problem. They gave me a quick fix to try; unfortunately the problem persisted. I notified them again, and even though I was out of warranty, they offered to send a replacement at no charge due to the nature of my problem! As if that weren’t enough, after I sent an email to thank them, they notified me that they were able to give me two-day expedited shipping on my replacement! I am seriously blown away. I haven’t experienced such great customer service in recent memory. Special thank you to Renee B with Infant Optics. I will certainly remain loyal to this company, and recommend them to any mom I know. As for the product itself, we were ready to purchase a new one if need be. It has clear sound and visual quality, excellent range, pan tilt, two way speaker, scanning between multiple cameras, and temperature monitoring; all highly important features.

> 3 dayWe’ve gone through three of these monitors in three years. The first one didn’t hold a charge after a few months of use. The second, same issue. We ordered a replacement battery, it still wouldn’t stay charged and always had to be attached to the wall charger. The third has worked better for us, however often drops the signal in our home. Very annoying, especially when we get the ‘out of signal range’ beep over and over in the middle of the night, when we’re right next to our kids’ room. Overall, I’m happy with the monitor - picture quality is good and I like the fact that you can have multiple cameras. Also like that I can talk through the monitor. Just a few small (annoying) bugs that may need to be worked out.

Greater than one weekWhy did I wait to buy this monitor?!? I really wanted a monitor that had it all (including WiFi capabilities) with a parent module. So because this monitor didn’t have WiFi, I went with a Motorola instead. Although the picture on the Motorola parent module was amazing, I went through three different returns before finally giving up on the MP4 model. The sound went out on one and the other two I had troubles with charging because the port was cheaply constructed. Finally, after every review basically said this monitor was the best, I bought it. Why why why was I reluctant? It really is the best! The picture is great, the sound is great, I love all the features. And I really don’t miss WiFi like I thought I would. If you are like me and really don’t want to use your phone as your parent module, this really is the best monitor!!!!

> 3 dayI bought this camera to ad to already purchased system to be able to monitor couple rooms at the same time. Picture quality is great whether it is a day or night. It gets little grainy with night mode but still very clear. I love the feature that I can adjust it horizontally and vertically via monitor. The unit is not split screen when used with more cameras, but it gives picture in 10 sec intervals between units. Quick shuffle button (OK) is great and helps to switch in need quickly and with ease if you need to choose one, two, or up to four cameras picture, or a scan mode. If you have a cell phone nearby the monitor it will interfere with a signal and unfortunately there is no silence option but you get a rather loud eating noise. This camera doesnt come standard with optical lens but its an option to buy. I currently dont need it so Im happy with how it is. So far Im liking this product and would recommend it to others.

> 3 dayI have been very satisfied with my infant optics monitor and camera, as well as the add on camera. I love that the cameras move to see the entire room, and that you can use multiple cameras on the same monitor. I have not seen an equivalent product with a similar price point. I recently had a sudden issue with my monitor (after having no issues for almost 2 years) and received excellent and prompt customer service. Infant Optics sent me a new monitor, even though my monitor was technically outside the 1 year warranty period. I highly recommend this monitor and it’s add on cameras as a low cost monitor with a variety of desirable features.
