> 24 hourThere is a glare on the night vision that isn’t there with the regular lens. It doesn’t change what you can see too much, but it’s annoying.

> 24 hourI bought this lens right away when I originally bought our camera - our daughter was just over a year and still confined to her crib. When showing my husband, he thought this extra lens would be a waste of money. We are now expecting #2, so we purchased a second camera when the price dropped; and have been using it with the wide lens in the living room for when we need to run to the basement to do laundry and our 2 year old is watching a movie or reading her books. It gives peace of mind that shes not getting into something she shouldnt be when we are out of the room for a few minutes. The wide lens is fantastic for toddlerhood. In fact my husband has now asked me to get a second lens so we can have one for each camera. It went from useless, waste of money to hey we should get a second one. So even if you dont use it right away, it is very handy for when your toddler starts playing independently. It allows you to view the whole room without having to scan the camera to find where your child is hiding.

> 24 hourWhy doesn’t this lens come with the monitor!! It’s a must have. If you decide you want this monitor that is The monitor constantly beeped and is always running out of barriers, but the sound must have finally broken itself so it no longer beeps, and I just have to keep it plugged in all the time. Dumb! I’ve wished for a different monitor since day 1

> 24 hourI have attached 2 pictures to this review to show the difference in the night vision with the regular lens compared to the wide angle lens that I purchased here. I read the reviews and knew that this may be an issue, but I am disappointed to say the least. When we moved my daughter to her big girl room, I wanted to be able to see the majority of the room so I could keep an eye on her when she was playing as well as when she was napping/asleep. Unfortunately, the night vision is less than desirable and its difficult to even make her little body out at times. So, if this isnt a major issue for you, no big deal, but if youd prefer a clearer picture (like the original lens) at night, youre not going to get it.

> 24 hourMy granddaughter recently graduated from her crib to a “Big Girl” bed now. I am such a fan of infant optics products that I purchased the wide lens so that we had full view of her room during playtime, naptime & bedtime. The vision is so clear even at night. No more moving the camera from side to side. Now I can sit and stalk her from one angle. Absolutely recommend this product

> 24 hourUpdate: you can read my initial review below but here I am, two days in, I have to change my review to 1 star. The first day it was great- could see the whole room clearly. At night, the image was terrible! Super grainy. I didn’t change my review the first night because I thought I may have left a plastic protective film or something on the camera lens. Nope. The wide angle lens is just terrible at night. I wish I had read more reviews.... I will be trying to reAch the company and I’ll update if anything changes. Original review: We have had the camera for two years and have loved it, but when our daughter started wandering around the room at night we wanted something better. We looked at replacing the camera but felt that we should try this new lens before making a huge purchase – the best decision we made. This land let us see the entire room. The camera is up on a bookshelf about 7 feet off the floor-before we could just see her bed, and now we see almost everything. The old lens unscrews, and the new lens screws on. Couldn’t be simpler to swap out. Be careful – if this product comes in a package with several other items it might get lost end it comes in a very small 1” x 1” x 1” box. Again, we loved having this camera and are so glad that this lens will allow us to use this camera for a few more years.

> 24 hourDefinitely helps us see all three of our kids in their room when its mounted high enough. The problem is this lens isnt as crisp in the darkness as the original lense that came with our Infant Optics monitor. We hesitate to go back to the original because we like the wide angle, but it can be hard to make out details at night. We find ourselves staring a little too close at the monitor trying to figure out whos crying or moving around. 4 stars though because I like it.

> 24 hourWe have three cameras - Here are my thoughts/conclusions Camera One (1) The night vision is horrible unless it is 4 to 5 feet MAX from the subject. (2) The wide angle lens progressively makes the camera get worse over time. (3) The wide angle lens is in no way for a room shot at night. Daytime yes, but if the room is dark you will not be able to see your children whatsoever. The frame around the camera is fuzzy from the moment the wide angle lens is put on the camera. (4) In order to get the camera to function WITHOUT the wide angle lens in a room where there are two beds, it should be up no higher than 4.5 feet and NOT attached to the wall. This does NOT give us a true wide angle shot, but we have to scroll from bed to bed. We can at least see our children to see if they are in bed and/or if their eyes are open. Camera Two (1) Night vision is fine because it is focusing on a white crib and directly over the crib. The distance is maybe 3 feet to the subject. The wide angle is also fine because its 3ft away from the subject, but I dont understand why anyone would want a wider shot of a crib when the one (non-wide angle lens) works totally fine for that. Camera Three (1) Night vision is fine because enough light creeps into the room. I filed a return on Amazon to return the wide angle lens which is absolutely useless to us. Im overall disappointed in the customer service (you get one instruction from one and one totally opposite from another), and the room view for camera one. If you are buying this system to look at cribs you will be fine. If you need it to look at two toddler beds, you will be disappointed like us. The only reason we are keeping it is because our home has plaster walls and its the best system in regards to range. (Like we can get a signal in every room of the house.) Anyways, I hope this review is helpful to you and saves you a month of time and effort.

> 24 hourSo far we are extremely happy with the new monitor. We purchased the hand unit and 2 cameras. I like that when toggling between rooms you can hear the sound in the room being shown. Many monitors that toggle do not offer that feature. Only issue we have had is that when you add the separate lens that can be purchased for 11$ the night vision does not work and nothing can be see on hand unit. But other then that its a great purchase and worth the $$!

> 24 hourI cant believe how much more I can see with the wide angle lens on the camera. We moved our camera to see a blind spot in my daughters room, and I was surprised how it limited the room view. I figured this $12 lens was worth a try over adding another camera to a 10 x 8 room. We went from seeing just a mini crib to seeing literally everything in the room! Like other reviews I agree the night vision is not as great, but its fine enough.
