> 3 dayIt makes the night vision absolutely TERRIBLE! We liked it in daytime so we swapped it off our LO’s nursery camera and onto the playroom camera (since it’s only used in daylight/overheard light on). We also have both models of the camera and it’s just as bad on both!

Greater than one weekI was very happy to see that this lens is available for a reasonable price. The lens is easy to install, and provides a nice panoramic of almost the entire room, which is perfect for a roaming toddler. Some reviewers complained about the distortion of the picture, but I find the distortion minimal and am very pleased with the video quality. As other reviewers have mentioned, this lens offers very poor to no night vision (despite the fact that the night vision on the monitor is awesome). If you keep a dim light on it isnt an issue, but in total darkness it is pretty much impossible to see anything. I would have given this lens a 5-star rating if it allowed decent night vision, but overall this a must have if you have a toddler.

> 3 dayIts good, not amazing. Definitely adds the benefit of being able to see an entire room which is very helpful for the playroom, but it does come with a compromise in quality. Picture isnt very clear (although clear enough), especially when kiddo isnt very close to the lens. Still, a better alternative to the regular lens for our family & Im grateful for the increased perspective.

> 3 dayAs you can see the night vision is not the same quality as the standard license that the DXR 8 came with.

> 3 dayI was hesitant to try this lens after reading several poor reviews. The reviews stated that the picture quality, specifically when using night vision, was horrible. I stumbled upon a Q&A that said the poor picture quality when using night vision had been resolved in newer models. I cannot remember the exact year they said, but we purchased our video monitor in late 2018. I figured I would give it a try since scanning the room for our child (who just moved to a toddler bed) with the standard lens is somewhat annoying. I put the new lens on tonight, and I was very pleased that the picture quality isn’t horrible. The picture quality is slightly worse than when using the standard lens, but I can see clearly enough that it won’t be an issue. My only complaint about this video monitor in general is that I think the picture quality should be better overall for the price, but again, it does it’s job so it’s not something to throw a fit about.

> 3 dayIt’s a great concept and I installed it right away to use in my 3 year old sons room. He sometimes gets out of bed and goes to open his door or try to open the blinds on his window, and the regular lens isn’t wide enough so I have to pan to find him and he’s pretty fast. It works great if the room is light. But on night mode, it’s super blurry and grainy and I can’t see his face to be able to tell if he’s asleep. Even worse when zooming in. I understand the night mode isn’t as clear in general but it was even worse than the normal lens. It would be good to use for a playroom or something where you want to watch your kid in a large area and the lights will be on. But it’s useless in the dark if you want to be able to identify anything more than blurry shapes.

> 3 dayThis review is for the Wide Angle lens as well as the infant optics DXR-8 Camera. Since I received the camera from our baby registry, could not submit review. So had to submit review on the Angle lens website for the DXR-8 Camera and Lens.

> 3 dayThe DXR-8 is both a highly rated and highly reviewed product, which is why my wife and I decided to get this model. We love that we can pan the camera, but also how amazingly quiet the panning is. We also like the ability to two-way talk has made life a bit easier from time to time. We also like that if we were to lose internet, our camera would still work, unlike our previous product.

Greater than one weekWe didnt initially realize the lens on our camera was interchangeable and were looking at other cameras that had a wider viewing area. The camera continued to pop up on best sellers lists and saw one comment that mentioned purchasing the wider lens. So we gave it a shot, dropped $12 to buy this lens, 100% worth it, EXACTLY what we wanted. We can see the whole room, and didnt have to spend a few hundred on a new camera. Totally worth the investment!

> 3 dayWe have twin toddlers and had been using a different baby monitor with two cameras. This worked fine as babies, but they now move so quickly we need to see the entire room at once to make sure everyone is safe. This wide angle lens is a must! Plan ahead so you dont have to buy a second unit like we did - start here!
