Infant Optics Wide Angle Lens For DXR-8

It is a wide angle, captures most of the room. The picture quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Our daughter just transitioned into a toddler bed and she likes to get up and explore her room so we had to get the wide angle lens. We have used these cameras with the monitor for 2.5 years and have not had any issues that couldnt be fixed but the picture quality in night vision mode truely is awful. I did read the others reviews and was hoping i wouldnt have the same opinion but unfortunately i do. I need this lense no matter what so now we just have to deal with it. but i wouldnt recommend this to anybody.

This fish eye allowed us to see our whole sons room when playing instead of having to move the camera around to see what was going on. Absolutely worth getting!

We love our infant optics baby monitor and this lense is perfect for getting the wide angle view. I had struggled for months monitoring the kids in their play room before I realized this lense was available for sale. After installing this lense, which took less than a minute, I could see their entire playroom and what the kids were doing when I couldnt be in the room with them. Worth the money for sure.

Its a great view of our toddlers room. I love it, but my wife doesnt. She only wants the zoom lens where she can watch him breathing while he sleeps, but I like being able to see him play in his room if were in another part of the house. If you want to see the whole room without sacrificing picture quality, get this lense. If you want a happy wife, buy a second camera in secret and put this lens on it, and let her see the zoom view while you use this...

Great way to enhance the image of nursery

I love our Infant Optics camera. We recently converted my daughters crib to a toddler bed. I ordered the wide lens to be able to see more of her room in case she doesnt stay in her bed. The night vision on the wide lens is absolutely awful. I have decided not to use it at all.

Baby’s room has low ceilings so that the camera couldn’t get far enough from the crib to fully show on the monitor. This wide angle lens made all the difference. Perfect for our situation!

For the record, I was looking for a lens specifically for a small bedroom. The room is 8 x 8, and this lens allows me to see from side to side. Then the camera itself can be moved up and down as needed if little one decides to roam around. The night vision on this is pretty poor compared to the DXR-5 I was using, but again the wide angle lens was a more important feature for me.

Pictures: I included two pictures of the wide angle lens with it showing the whole room and the zoom in. And one picture(the clearer one) of the normal lens without the wide angle lens. Since my daughter got a toddler bed I needed to see the whole room. Well, it works perfect during the day and is bright and vibrant, but when I used it at night, it looks very foggy and not so clear. It’s definitely doable though if you absolutely want to see the whole room but I think I might switch back to the normal lens and just pan around the room if I need to find my daughter.
