Infant Optics Wide Angle Lens For DXR-8

> 3 dayIncredibly easy to install, just twist it into the threads of The camera after you take the old lens out. My only complaint is the picture quality is not perfect. It may have more to do with the camera and less with this lens, but it could have been better. I can still see everything at a nice wide angle (ie my kids entire bed), but it’s a tiny bit fuzzy.

> 3 dayAs you can see the night vision is not the same quality as the standard license that the DXR 8 came with.

> 3 dayWe love our infant optics baby monitor and this lense is perfect for getting the wide angle view. I had struggled for months monitoring the kids in their play room before I realized this lense was available for sale. After installing this lense, which took less than a minute, I could see their entire playroom and what the kids were doing when I couldnt be in the room with them. Worth the money for sure.

> 3 dayBought another camera initially when I had my son. Lasted me for 5 months. Searched all over for a good camera that would see everything with a large screen and would help me sleep better at night knowing that it was working. Well I found it! This camera is amazing! I bought the additional wide angle lens and can not speak more highly of it! The picture is clear and the sound is amazing! I also love the fact that the screen turns off after a certain time so that at night it isnt blinding me while I get my rest! Thank you again for such an amazing product! Only negative is I wish I could afford a second camera!!!!

> 3 dayI use one of these in the playroom and in the living room so I can check on the kids from time to time. It works really well for this function. The wide angle definitely captures the room better and gives decent night vision. The picture quality is decent, which is actually quite good considering the price point.

> 3 dayThis allows me to see my entire baby in his crib even though the camera is very close.

> 3 dayI bought this lens right away when I originally bought our camera - our daughter was just over a year and still confined to her crib. When showing my husband, he thought this extra lens would be a waste of money. We are now expecting #2, so we purchased a second camera when the price dropped; and have been using it with the wide lens in the living room for when we need to run to the basement to do laundry and our 2 year old is watching a movie or reading her books. It gives peace of mind that shes not getting into something she shouldnt be when we are out of the room for a few minutes. The wide lens is fantastic for toddlerhood. In fact my husband has now asked me to get a second lens so we can have one for each camera. It went from useless, waste of money to hey we should get a second one. So even if you dont use it right away, it is very handy for when your toddler starts playing independently. It allows you to view the whole room without having to scan the camera to find where your child is hiding.

Greater than one weekI was very happy to see that this lens is available for a reasonable price. The lens is easy to install, and provides a nice panoramic of almost the entire room, which is perfect for a roaming toddler. Some reviewers complained about the distortion of the picture, but I find the distortion minimal and am very pleased with the video quality. As other reviewers have mentioned, this lens offers very poor to no night vision (despite the fact that the night vision on the monitor is awesome). If you keep a dim light on it isnt an issue, but in total darkness it is pretty much impossible to see anything. I would have given this lens a 5-star rating if it allowed decent night vision, but overall this a must have if you have a toddler.

> 3 dayI love our Infant Optics camera. We recently converted my daughters crib to a toddler bed. I ordered the wide lens to be able to see more of her room in case she doesnt stay in her bed. The night vision on the wide lens is absolutely awful. I have decided not to use it at all.

> 3 dayThis wide-angle lens really does significantly increase your field of vision for the Infant Optics camera. During the day, it provides a great quality picture, but night time is a different story. In total darkness, you will barely see anything especially if the crib or bed is situated some distance away from the camera. With other light sources or another camera in the room, the situation is improved, but buyers should be aware of this. I would still recommend the lens though.
