I’m baffled how this robot can consistently get stuck somewhere in a 1500 sqf space after mapping it out, making constant trips to recharge and worse completely kill its battery again and again when going nowhere. Somehow my previous apparently stupid robot vacuum was fine for years. But two months in I want i want to throw this out despite the high price tag. In a given week of daily cleanings it usually manages to clean the apartment once. Every other time I must save it. It’s just silly.

Love the Roombas. I have the more expensive i9 but bought the i4 for another floor. I wish it had the mapping of the i9 so I can do small areas and not the whole floor. Other than that feature, it is great cleaning up dog hair and other debris from carpets and hardwood floors. I have 4 which run every day and do a great job. They are a little noisy on hardwoods.

Suction is alright and moves around okay. Super details below if you wna keep going. I think it is cool for daily, but I would definitely say you still gotta do your floors depending on the level of traffic. I use this daily but will also sweep daily. The mapping is alright but the vacuum constantly is stuck even when all stuff out the way. I have remapped several times. It does get annoying that I cannot have this run while I am at work, I have to be present in order to utilize.

So I’ve been eyeing these vacuums for a while. We are a family of 4, 2 young kids, 2 cats and 1 dog. I was tired of vacuuming and arguing with my SO over vacuuming so invested in one of these. Pros: Easy to set up Vacuum collection is great as you dont need to empty the robot all the time Suction is good. Even sucked to the cat litter up! Managed to navigate the tile to the hardwood which is a big ledge. Downside: I felt like it cleaned my kitchen 8x before venturing into the living room. The whole “goes in rows” didn’t seem to work well as I was watching the machine like a hawk and it didn’t just go in rows. When the machine did make it the living room, it kept diverting back to the kitchen… not sure why. Lastly, after a 56 minute constant clean, the robot didn’t make it back to home base to change. It just died on the floor and I had to pick it up. Lastly, because it kept circulating the kitchen, in the 58 minute clean it never made it to the living room. As a result, I persuaded my SO to buy me the upgraded j6 in hope for a better performance to fix all my complains. Standby for that post.

I love Roombas...Ive had 3 over the years, and they are great if you have the right setup for them. Doesnt eliminate vacuuming entirely but really spreads it out, especially in main areas. My problem with this one is that I bought the base that empties itself, and had no idea it requires disposable bags! They are expensive! I would never have bought it had I realized that - I hate dealing with disposable bags, and its completely unnecessary. I would rather dump it out myself. They could definitely design this with something you wouldnt have to replace when you empty it. This just seems like a money grab to me. Save your money and get the version without the self-emptying bin that requires expensive refills every time.

My first one stopped working, but they replaced it and ever since is working better then i thought-it would. The first one Sometimes id find it jammed up , or it was trying to eat cords or rugs up or flipped over. So far nothing like has happened.

I have an apartment with hard wood floors throughout. I used to try to vacuum everyday (impossible). My floors constantly had tufts of fur everywhere. 2 Ragdoll cats and an English Cream Golden Retriever make tons of fur. Now Roomba vacuums every morning and the floors are clear of fur and bits of dog chews. I am so impressed!

Oh My Lanta I dont think Ive been this happy about a vacuum ever! The whole time it was mapping my house and cleaning at the same time just made my day! I cant stop smiling! It did a fantastic job cleaning and mapped my house pretty impressively! The app is really easy to use too! Best Purchase EVER!!!! Adding an Edit: I also wanted to point out that I do have hardwood floors, that do have runner rugs all throughout the house and my Roomba does great with transitioning from hardwood to carpet. I didnt have a problem with it connecting to my WIFI or with the App. It does say that it takes a couple times cleaning to map out your house just right. But after the first time my Roomba cleaned it had mapped out my house pretty nicely. If I could Id give my Roomba 10 stars!!

    Greater than one week

This series is the only few vacuum robots that are not made in China and doesn’t have a camera spying on you. It can also cross thresholds reliably.
