> 3 dayI am in the process of collecting combat knives and I have collected a Fairborn (very disappointed), several trench knives and this one the Ka-Bar with serrated blade. This knife has a long history especially with the US Marines in WWII. It was standard issue with a leather handle. The Ka-Bar was a all purpose knife, one to use in combat, others to cook with, break up hard dirt, chop down small wood limbs for fires and many other things. The reason is has longevity is that has a comparatively heavy blade which is impossible to break under normal situations. Other combat knives like the Fairborn can be used only for one thing, combat, trench knives usually have a metal protection for your knuckles that gives you the ability to punch with a brass knuckle type blow. But its other utility is pretty limited. The other thing you need to look at is not just the knife but the scabbard. The scabbard is probably the most important part of the knife since it protects the blade and your body from being cut. This scabbard provides carrying opportunities other than carrying on your belt. You can carry it on your MOLE vest, web belt, etc., by using the available loop cutouts on the scabbard. You can carry it on your lower leg by using small straps on the two loop openings; the options are endless. So here is my suggestion: dont consider any knife unless you can see the scabbard that comes with it.

> 3 dayAmazing knife, great quality and fast shipping for overseas. I recommend that if you go hunting or are deployed that you purchase this knife, it helps with more than just the average uses because of its size and strength. For example i used it to pry a few pieces of wood off when a regular screw driver could not do the job.

Greater than one weekThis marine grade knife is extra slick, and very daunting. I thought the plastic holster was ok but it does lock into place unlike the leather, but I still prefer the leather. I love the ka-bar, its just so hard core, I had to collect some. I also am easily impressed by the super high carbon steel on these blades, which makes these things legendary. If you dont have a ka-bar, you might want to treat yourself to a more expensive one with a wooden handle, even though its more for display, its still the same thing. If you want to abuse it for a lot of money, or just want one to use somehow, buy this one or one without a black coating. Be noice to your ka-bar, and maybe one day you can haunt it or something. And dont give it to a little kid.

> 3 dayI like it, it is really good knife, good quality, good design. If you need a knife for hunting or camping in forest, it will work.
