I really like this smart plug, but I can’t use it in all the areas at my place, the cord is so short! It just doesn’t work for me.

I love, love, LOVE this Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip. Im one who tends too keep their mobile phone plugged up into the charger anytime Im home. Studies prove that doing this leads too the battery loosing the ability to hold a full charge in a shortened period of time. So Ive purchased this power strip specifically for my home office, and have attached several important items too each of the six plugs. 1. Charging plug for my iPhone 8. 2. Cordless Panasonic Link to Cell handset. 3. Paper Shredder. 4. Portable Bluetooth speaker. 5. Electric Bug Zapper. 6. Charging plug for my Logitec H600 Headset. Configured everything very easily using the Kasa app for iOS. Assigned an appropriate name for each device plugged into a designated smart outlet on the strip (Outlet 1 - 6.) 1. iPhone 2. 2nd phone (Already have cordless phone 1 plugged up in living room) 3. Shredder 4. Bluetooth Speaker 5. Zapper 6. Headset Next I linked my TP-Link Kasa account after activating the Kasa Alexa skill on Amazon.com. Did this so I could turn On/Off each individual plug/device using Alexa and the many Echo dots/plus/Studio devices I have positioned all over the house. Then I proceeded too set daily on/off schedules for when I wanted devices like my iPhone, 2nd phone and headset too be recharged during the day/night. This was so easy to do using the Kasa app installed on my iPhone. Thats it. Nothing else needed too be done. Now I have a system in place that keeps my portable devices fully charged whenever I use them (Without compromising battery life.) I can also say Alexa, Turn on Zapper when Im covertly bitten by a blood thirsty mosquito. Love catching the little buggers off guard and hearing that beautiful Pop sound when they land on it. Then I say Alexa, Turn Zapper Off once their gone! I owe it all too this Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip. Have now made my entire automated home system centered around Kasa Smart Plugs.

The product works as expected. I connected it with Google Assistant and I am quite please. Although, as an Apple user, I notice there isnt Apple Homekit Integration. That is not surprising since that feature is pretty underdeveloped and lacking with partners. The application is easy and intuitive. I set it up quite easily. Mostly I use it for my light, computer screens, aroma diffuser and heater. Probably will replace it with a fan in the winter. All things I want to automate around my desk. Cannot do much. Just Screen off, Lights On (doesnt actually turn on because my desk lamps require a press for first use), Lights Off (thats nice when I am tired.) and heater On/Off. This can be a fan in the summer. Thoughts on Application/Smart Devices: It seems they want to add feature to the app but havent quite gotten to it. I dont know if they ever will. In my humble opinion, I am a bit worried for the future if the apple will be maintained. For now, support seems great but down the line, you have to remember this is an appliance with a long product life. Unlike physical products, application have a short life. Although it is a worry, that is a risk you take with all smart devices.

This is fin great! Having multiple things on different schedules turning on and off makes life so much easier! Highly recommend!

When I first received this and I plugged it in the units power measurement didnt work right. It would say 3700 watts and was not correct at all when its on for a period of time. It was on firmware 1.09 I checked for a firmware upgrade but none were available. I dont know how long it takes for the app to see there is an update but eventually it did. It went to firmware 1.12 and the issues with power measurement was fixed. It is nice having a power supply you can program to turn on and off, and also measure the power being used currently and over time. You find some devices in your home are energy vampires even when the power button says its off. My computer speakers for example consumer 25 watts when the power button is off, and 43 when its on. Thats like having several LED light bulbs turned on all the time. Pc monitors and even your desktop PC will also consume r a lot of powered even when it looks like its in a low power state.

I have several of the TP-Link Kasa Smart Plugs and Bulbs in my home, but this was my first power strip. I use it in my kitchen. The Echo is plugged into the USB (which is always on), and my coffeemaker, espresso machine, tea kettle, LED lamp, and SONOS speaker pair are plugged into the six outlets (you can pair outlets in the Kasa app). So. Let me tell you about this thing. Are you like me and forget to turn off your coffeemaker? Well, you can set a Smart Timer to turn off the coffeemaker after an hour! And I know you might be thinking, my machine already has a timer but the thing about that is this: every single device in your home that has an Instant On feature, a display, a clock, or any sort of remote operating capability, is using power all the time. How can you prevent that? Plug it into one of these. My electrical consumption has steadily dropped since I started using these. Obviously, you have to set the timers up to turn stuff off, but if you do, it will save power, and in the long run, money. The build quality is very nice, although I wouldnt go throwing the thing around, obviously. Also, you can monitor each devices power consumption and on time through the Kasa app (as well as through the Alexa app). Speaking of Alexa, if you have one, the devices are detected immediately and work seamlessly. I cant comment on any other personal assistant, because I only have two Echo dots, but they work very well. You wont be disappointed if you get this. The three plug model is also great if you dont need six outlets. I have both.

I started looking at way to understand and control my energy usage after regular $300+ dollar electric bills. I started with the Sense Energy monitor (which I highly recommend). The Sense featured an integration with this Kasa HS300 power strip and the ability to see what each individual outlet is consuming in real time. Once you setup and integrate the Sense and Kasa HS300 you can monitor and understand how much power a device is using and the associated cost (based on your cost of electricity that you configure in the Sense app) over time - This was a key capability for me. The Kasa HS300 itself is very well built and I would highly recommend it as a standalone (without Sense). The HS300 itself does give you access to usage information directly in the Kasa app as well as the ability to turn off individual outlets when the devices connected are not serving a purpose. Lastly, you get six outlets that are individually controlled and offer a view into each discrete outlet from a power usage perspective - this is a significantly more cost effective approach from my use case.

I live on a 20 acre parcel, we dont use passwords as there is nobody within 1/3 of a mile in any direction, and this Kasa product is prevented from joining my Wi-Fi network unless I set a password for the 35 other devices that are already on the network...now I know Kasa is trying to do the right thing, but really? Warn people about the dangers of an open network, but dont prevent me from doing it anyhow, its just dumb...hope this helps!

This works great with Google home and Samsung smart things, no issues, no complaints.

This is an excellent power strip. Each plug works. The connection to google/alexa is poor. Approximately once a week each plug on the device goes offline. The workaround seems to be to reset the internet, and then reset each individual outlet, and then reconnect to google. Google says its on kasaa, kasaa says its on Google. I love our dystopian future.
