> 3 dayI bought it specifically to always power two Raspberry Pi 2B+s through the USB outlets (2.4A) and to conditionally power two 3D printers. You do need to install a phone app, to attach to power strip to your wi-fi network - and it is convenient to name the device and/or the individual plugs. After that, you can ignore the app. (I did not test the Kasa app, but it does look clean and offers hooks into Alexa/Google Assistant/IFTTT/Smart Things, as well as generic sensors, door locks, motion sensors, and smart bulbs.) Home Assistant had a simple integration that found the plugs after they had been set up through the Kasa app, and the power strip responded 100% to the HA controls. I am very happy with the purchase, and will consider more of these in the future.

> 3 dayAs is common today, the device comes with sparse (3-steps) instructions. On 3 different devices (iPad, Pixel 6 phone, and MacBook Pro) I couldnt get the Kasa app to let me establish an account. So, after knocking my head against the wall for over an hour, I went to sleep and called TP-Link tech support the next morning. The agent was excellent. Two important missing pieces she told me are: (1) all consumer-facing TP-Link accounts associated with a particular email address use the identical username & password, and (2) despite them telling you passwords should have a mix of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters, TP-Links security doesnt always play nice with special characters. Once I got rid of them and adjusted the multiple TP-Link accounts in my password keeper, I was finally able to set up the Kasa app. The next problem was adding the device to the app. The instructions say to make sure the KP303 and device on which Kasa software is installed are running on the same network. I thought this meant the network configured in my router. (I thought they were using something like a temporary Bluetooth network to have the KP303 learn what network to use.) But nothing worked. The app has a useful trouble-shooting window if this fails, but nothing on it helped. After two failures and a waste of about 1/2 hour, I noticed that a TP-named network appeared on my list of available networks (in Settings) when I plugged in the KP303. Wouldnt it be nice if they mentioned this when they told you to make sure the two devices were on the same network? Once I connected to this network on my iPad, everything went rather smoothly. The last start-up issue I had was naming the outlets on the KP303. The Kasa software very intelligently uses a 2-part naming system for each device; e.g. Master Bedroom + Right-side night light. Again, coming from a competitors product, I learned this the hard way. First I named each outlet with a name like, Master Bedroom - Right-side night light, then discovered about the 2-level, location+name nomenclature, had to learn how to rename already named devices, and went back to simplify the second-level names. All this griping concerns start-up issues, for what seems like a very powerful, well-thought-out system. But I once spent the first six months of a programming job developing documentation standards, going through my predecessors work, figuring out what he had done, and documenting all his undocumented programming. So, I have no tolerance for poor documentation. Hence, 4-stars. P.S. I hope my detailed explanations above (i.e., the missing documentation) will help others trying to get Kasa and the KP303 going.

> 3 dayI love this product. It allowed me to turn on or off my different devices individually, using my iPhone through the app or with alexa voice commands. This allows me to save energy by turning devices of that I dont use frequently but have to have connected on a power strip.

> 3 dayDue to my current work-from-home set-up requiring me to use three different laptops, due to being responsible for multiple platforms, I was looking for a way to avoid having to either keep three laptop chargers constantly plugged in or having to manually plug/unplug each one. This power strip was the perfect solution. Now I can use the Kasa App on my phone to conveniently turn on the chargers I need and turn off the ones I dont. Im also able to set-up a schedule so the strip automatically turns certain chargers on and off according to my work schedule. My only regret was not buying the strip with more outlets, but still highly recommend this product.

> 3 dayUse this in garage to control 2 shop light chains and a fan. So very convenient. Ive chosen Kasa for my smart house needs with success and great performance for all units - 5 cameras, doorbell camera, front and back door light switches, several outlets and LED strips in the screen room.

> 3 dayI use this for three fans in the summer. As a power strip, it provides power, as expected. For the smart home part, I use Google Home and its never reset or disconnected. Just does what it is supposed to do and that makes me a happy camper.

> 3 dayIt might have been having the USB plugs on, but it didnt restart after a power outage last month. But. I really liked the thing, so I got another one. This is very useful with a nanny cam. I can see the fan/temp/lights in the greenhouse, and control them without running all the way out there. Perfect! You can also turn the lights off on the unit, if you want complete darkness as well. The physical buttons are nice when youre there, and the status on/off light is nice to see. again, you can disable those, but it gets confusing. The app has a timer on it, and also keeps power-on stats for the outlets. The USB outlets are always on.

> 3 dayI have several Kasa items, but this is one of my favorite. The ease to control the power to multiple items in one power strip. I use one to turn off the power to the stereo, helps to reduce the risk of damage during a storm.

> 3 dayEasy to use and install (install was less than three minutes to set up). Only issue is that the cord itself is only about three feet so had to use it for something else. However the features outweigh the benefits of me looking for another one so later I’ll invest in a different brand with a longer cord.
