bought it to use it on my TT, since there are some water intrusion issues... Its nice it doesnt make any holes in the material... Its accuracy?...I am not sure about it, since it seems to have a grey area after reaching 28% of humidity, it suddenly goes into overload (red LEDs lighting up)...would be better if it would be accurate till 100%

This saved me a lot of time and money locating the exact places on an old plaster & lath wall that were wet. It indicated the EXACT boundary of the wet area. I only had to replace those areas testing wet and it eliminated any other areas. The tester worked well if held FLAT against the wall. Of course the % moisture indication could not be verified, but in my case all I needed to know was the boundry between 100% and 0% moisture. This measurement was repeatable, allowing me to mark the boundary. It was a VERY difficult problem to solve. I initially searched for leaking pipes, a roof leak, etc. I finally decided that a calcium chloride desiccant bag that had been hanging near the closet wall must have sprung a leak. This contaminated area absorbed moisture to a point of equilibrium and remained wet regardless of running a dehumidifier for weeks. NOTE: Never use a desiccant container containing calcium chloride where a leak could splll on any absorbent surface. It will NEVER dry out and can not be cleaned off.

We had seen a clear water stain but it was hard to remember whether or not it was there before. Since we thought it was fresh, we wanted a way to test that would not damage the wall. Picked up this item and within moments after opening the package were able to detect that the stain was fresh. As a result we were able to get repair work underway before the next rain. Awesome tool.

I have done water damage for years, I bought this as a personal back up. It is easy to work but done tons I get different readings I think it depends on the battery level. However it has gotten me through real life situations and I recommend for the competitive price as a back up.

I use this to test wood from the wood pile before using in our wood stove. I dont know about accuracy, but relatively Im sure its accurate. A heavy piece certainly shows high moisture content. Very light ones measure what I would expect. So Im guessing its accurate. But what is great is how easy it is to use. Just slide it over the end of a cut log and you can very quickly see the moisture distribution. If there is still a we spot at the center for instance, it shows up right away. Those I put next to the stove to dry for a day or two before I use them. This is really the best answer IMO for my use case. A probe meter may be more accurate, but I need quick reading across the wood. Probe meters dont do that. This does. Ive dropped it a few times, still ticking. Highly recommended. Would buy again.

For the first delivery received, the Digital Moisture Meter kept shorting out. I returned the items and received replacement (for all three items). For the second delivery, the Non-Contact Voltage Tester did not work. The GFCI Outlet Tester was fine. At least two of the three work now, so Ill hold on to them. I would recommend going with something of higher quality. If it happened to me with both shipments, theres no doubt that this is happening to a lot of people who purchased these items.

After a contractor poorly installed windows causing water damage, I bought this to check the rest of my home. I found two more areas that didnt show any visible water intrusion. Both new areas had dripping wet insulation. Who knows how long they would have continued to get wet if I hadnt made this $40 purchase. Now with every rain storm I run this along my windows frames. Super easy to use and read. Its accurate as it matched the waste restorations $1200 meter.

We have engineered hardwood floors in our kitchen that were flooded because of an ice maker valve leak behind the refrigerator. As a result, some of the planks started to buckle. We used several fans to dry out the leak and I used the moisture detector daily to check the moisture content of those planks. It was very easy to use with its three settings; Hardwood, softwood, and drywall, I was able to determine when the planks were dry and also the condition of the adjoining dry wall. The monitor will detect down the 3/4 and the display gives both the percentage of moisture and and an audible tone. It turns out all the water evaporated and the planks returned to original state. If it had not been for the detector, my wife would have spent thousands of dollars on ripping out the floor and replacing it with some other type of flooring.
