I have used a similar product in the past and that worked well. I purchased this one based on prior experience with the brand’s products. However with this the results are inconsistent and it did not help me identify circuits in a way that I was comfortable trusting given the risk if the reading is an error. I gave up on it tossed it a drawer to collect dust.

Used in conjunction with another power off sniffer tool, it helped me get some non-functioning outlets working again w/o calling in additional help. A keeper for the tool box, well make and appears very reliable

Really Good product…

This is a really sleek tool to have when you are working on circuits by yourself. This is essentially a two-in-one tool. The base portion plugs into a standard 110 outlet and will identify if it is wired correctly via the lights on its base. Additionally, it has a button for testing the GFCI outlets. The upper unit works alongside the base. You plug the base unit into the outlet to find the breaker. With it plugged in you turn on the upper unit and run it up and down the circuit breakers. It will beep more rapidly when you come across the identified circuit. Really easy to use and a great tool to have (no need to turn off half the house just for one outlet). Like all Klein products it’s well made and worth the cost.
