I admit Im an amateur at using measuring tape for longer distances, and I should not have pulled this past the redline where it says STOP. That being said, if you do this once and the tape breaks and the mechanism snaps and makes your measuring tape useless after one try, you should not be in the business of making measuring tape anymore. I remember as a child, playing with measuring tape I exceeded that red line many times with more generic products, and I dont remember it breaking until long term wear down and pulling. This felt like itll the tape was attached to a piece of used to dental floss that snapped on a slight tug. The fact that there is no break mechanism and it is so delicate, tells me this product is by definition, planned obsolete.

This seems like a very good, very sturdy measuring tape. The packaging is ingenious and wonderful. My arthritic hands are so grateful.

The measure tape is very good quality if not better than the more expensive alternatives. Would be even better if it has both inch and cm

This definitely does the job. Much easier to lock than other tape measures. Easy to read. Easy to find and no one steals it because it doesn’t look like every other tape measurer! Haha

I bought hubby the multi pack. I know exactly where at least 8 are now! They are easy to see and I love the pull and stay until released feature. Good size. Great quality.

My tape was not locking after some usage. I assumed it was a defect in the tape. However, I found that I was misusing it and causing it not to lock properly. The locking feature depends on the rewind using the automatic rewind button to retract. However, I was occasionally pushing the tape back into the cassette manually which created some slack internally which resulted in the lock feature failing to work properly. To correct this I extended the tape to its maximum length and rewound it using the retract button. Viola, this cured the locking problem. Maybe most of you out there already knew this, but I was never aware of how this was supposed to be used.
