> 3 dayMy tape was not locking after some usage. I assumed it was a defect in the tape. However, I found that I was misusing it and causing it not to lock properly. The locking feature depends on the rewind using the automatic rewind button to retract. However, I was occasionally pushing the tape back into the cassette manually which created some slack internally which resulted in the lock feature failing to work properly. To correct this I extended the tape to its maximum length and rewound it using the retract button. Viola, this cured the locking problem. Maybe most of you out there already knew this, but I was never aware of how this was supposed to be used.

> 3 dayI really wanted to like this tape measure. Reviews were solid, and Im a fan of the push button to release. However there are two major problems: 1. The hold isnt very strong, so it often retracts on its own. 2. The metal tape itself is quite flimsy. All I want in a tool is for it to work. This falls short. On the hunt for a higher quality tape.

> 3 dayBought this mesuring tape for my school, super nice i like that it locks in place as you pull it out and then use the button for a slow release back inside. it is on the bigger side both in size and weight but i dont mind that at all

> 3 dayThis works, but I found that for the price, the quality could have been better. I ended up returning it and went to the store to buy a good old Stanely tape measure. But this would definitely work for most people in a pinch. Or who doesnt want to go to the store to purchase a tape measure.

> 3 dayIve had this less than 2 months and not at all happy with the self-locking feature. It doesnt always stay and, the longer you extend it, the more likely it is to slip. You have to try and hold it down with one hand while marking your measurement with the other (which might be OK for approximate measurements, but definitely not for anything that has to be exact.) There is no manual lock - only a manual release. Ill find some use for this, but probably have to buy another tape.

> 3 dayKomelon had the 1st process to effectively laminate Teflon to measuring tapes many decades ago. This is a great tape for 30%-50% less than brand/known names, but meets or exceeds their performance. Large numbers, easy to read yellow black tape. Good rigidity when extended. Long lasting, smooth and effective Teflon coating. Moderate weight on the belt for a 25 foot tape indicating good steel thickness overall. Sturdy, easy find fluorescent green case with rubber padding and comfort contours makes for a nice working tape. We replaced our favorite decades-old Komelon measuring tape that a careless friend nicked with a circular saw on a cutting table... highly recommended for price, function, durability and value.
