Ive had this fan for a couple months now and Im very pleased with it. I didnt want to just get a cheap plastic fan (Ive had plenty of those). So I spent a little more money and so far am happy I did. Hopefully this fan will last a few years, making it a solid investment. It is all metal, with metal blades. This fan does have the capacity to be mounted on the wall, but I have not done that so I cant review that aspect of the product. I just have my fan on the floor and thats good enough for me. I have a room in my home that was not getting cool enough this summer. The central A/C vent in that room blows out cool air, but its just not enough to accommodate the size of the room. So I purchased this fan to see if it would help. I placed the fan on the opposite end of the room from where the A/C vent is, so that the fan is blowing toward the A/C vent. It works wonderfully. This is a powerful fan and has tremendous velocity at the lowest setting (it has low-med-high settings). I usually just run it on low and it keeps my room cool. There were a few days when it was hotter and more humid outside, and the room just wasnt getting cool enough for me, so I turned the fan up on high and that did the trick. Because this is a heavy-duty, high-velocity fan, I suppose it is a bit loud even on the lowest setting. But Im one of those people who likes the sound of a fan so its hard for me to comment on this aspect. It is noticeably louder if you increase the setting. I suppose some people might think that the high setting sounds a bit like a jet engine. But again, Im just trying to be as objective as I can since the noise this fan produces doesnt bother me one bit, even on high. For me, the sound of this fan is very relaxing. In its defense, it is a very smooth sound. There is no annoying rattling or vibrating or anything like that - those type of noises DO bother me. This is just a nice, smooth fan sound that happens to be loud because it is pushing the air so forcefully. Some people might find this helpful if they want to block out outside noises, particularly if they work at night and have to try to sleep during the day. If you are one of those people, this is an excellent fan to serve your purpose. There are rubber feet on the bottom which help prevent vibration-type noise, and also helps keep the fan from sliding around - although it is so solid that it probably wouldnt slide anyway, except possibly on the highest setting. This fan is quite a bit heavier than a plastic fan, but I see that as a good thing. Thats what I wanted - a solid, sturdy fan as opposed to a lightweight, flimsy plastic thing. You dont have to worry about accidentally tipping it over. I recommend this this product. It is MUCH more powerful than a cheap, plastic fan. Very solid, all-metal construction. High velocity pushes much more air and does a much better job of cooling a room.

Our house AC is usually off during the day upstairs, we have a split ac downstairs. Sometimes it doesnt feel worth it to turn on the AC even when were at home at night. So this fan comes in handy! Noise is loud, but it really doesnt matter. Its a nice fan with lots of power. thats all we needed. Originally this was bought so that our dogs could be outside when we need them to be. Or if they are having digestive issues we could leave them in their crate outside without mosquitoes or bugs messing with them. Buy it! Other than the nose level its a great fan so far. Will update if it breaks down.

Do not buy a bunch of box fans. Get 1 of these and WOW! Cheers! No Remote Control. Like we need another remote control. TV, DVD, Blu Ray, Play station, Home theater AV unit, STOP !!!! No More Remotes.

Very powerful. I use it in my room and absolutely love it now let’s see if it lasts longer than my last fan that I got from Walmart.

This fan is durable, versatile, has three settings, great/high air flow on those sticky hot summer days and nights. I live in a 2nd floor apt wit no shade, or cooling units and the only other fan we have is non existent. This is the only thing that got us through last summer’s heat waves. As well as this summer as well. I just need this fan, an ice cold drink… and I end up having to turn it Trojan bee cause i get too chilled if I add anything else “cooling” (drink, wet bandanna, or even a water bottle for spritzing). I love the rotation angles for various air flow scenarios. I love the pedestal/metal mount design of its base. It has fallen, been knocked over, had a power surge hit it without it being protected and it’s still kicking! I even had my grandson drop a remote control into it as it was on huh (no one was hurt). But the fan and the blades were not effected in the least. I didnt need tools that I don’t own to open it. It has secure metal clamps all the way around a the perimeter to open the fan to clean (or fetch remote controls) or do a quick dusting of. This is amazing.

I just received the Lasko. This fan is not as powerful as my Powermax High Velocity fan I got for about $20 cheaper at Walmart a year ago. That doesnt mean that the Lasko is not a good fan. But Ive been running my Powermax for 10 hrs. in the daytime and for about 8 hours thru the night and wanted a second fan so Id be less likely to burn out either fan motor from running that long by itself. The Lasko is a little louder than the Powermax but the noise doesnt bother me, especially at night. Ill probably run the Lasko at night since its the loudest, and the Powermax in the daytime so I can hear the TV. :) The 3 Lasko fan speeds are not much different from each other. You will notice only a slight fan speed jump from the first speed to the 2nd, and the 2nd to the 3rd. However, the lowest Powermax speed is more powerful than the highest Lasko speed. Im afraid to use the 3rd speed on the Powermax for fear it might just take off. Its super loud. But the wind it blows just doesnt go very far beyond the fan, maybe 10 feet? Sounds a lot more powerful than it is. Maybe they just need to tweek the blades? The test as to whether or not I keep the Lasko will be tonight when I touch the motor to see if it has gotten hot after running for at least 8 hours. Ill let you know. The Powermax motor does get hot but Ive not run it continually more than 10 hours at a time. My only complaints with the Powermax are that the motor does get hot after hours of use, and there is NO brand name anywhere on the model. I didnt know what it was until I found it in the description online at Walmart. The Lasko should meet the needs of almost anyone needing a powerful fan. It gets good reviews and it seems to be reliable, lasting for a long time. So of course I would recommend it. Oh...my new Lasko is the black one and its a good looking fan. And it couldnt be simpler to set up. Itll take you about 30 seconds. You only need to snap on the legs and screw in the Dial that sits on the leg. (I wish these guys would put the Dial on the top of the fan.) Im just using it as a floor fan. So....after Ive tested the Lasko motor to see if it gets hot after many hours of use, Ill come back and let you know. Edit: It looks like you could run this Lasko fan 24/7 and it wont ever get hot. Ive very pleased about that but... Be WARNED....there is a metal part that sticks out on the left side as youre facing the fan and Ive got a nice bloody gash on my calf as a result of walking past it in the night. The metal piece is about as high as eye level for a medium sized dog so just be aware of that and do what you can to cover that part with something so it cant do damage to animals and humans. :)

This is an absolutely great fan! Moves air around a 2 car garage in Florida very nicely and isn’t really loud. Definitely recommend

    Greater than one week

Setting 1 will blow you away! If youre looking for a bedroom fan, or white noise fan this one might be a little too industrial. Im wishing Id gone with the plastic Lasko floor fan instead of the metal. Its a beast!! LOL

UPDATE!!! Its been 3 years and this thing is still going strong. Quality fan that delivers. UPDATE AGAIN: After 3 1/2 yrs of use I thought the motor was giving out as the blades were slowly turning, squeking noise, and sometimes would not turn at all. Guess what? The fan is still working great I just had to do a little cleaning maintenance, behind the blades where the motor housing is, in between the motor housing and the blades I found string and hair wrapped around the bolt. I removed all of that stuff with a tweezer but still found myself with the blades turning slowly. Finally I add some rust resistance spray in between the motor housing and the blade, the fan is working as good as new. WOW, WOW, and WOW! I read previous reviews that made me decide to get this one; oh man this fan is unbelievable. I accidentally flipped it to speed 3 when I went to turn it on for the first time my cat jumped half across the room and my papers started flying everywhere like I was in a windstorm; this fan literally sounds like a jet engine on speed 3 probably the reason why my cat jumped half across the room besides the powerful wind release. Yes its loud but it doesnt bother me as I can always wear my wireless headphones if I need to watch my movies plus the sound would probably put me right to sleep. I have had numerous fans before (over 10) but I have never come across a fan as powerful as this one. Even on the lowest speed it blows out more wind then any of my previous fans. Unlike the plastic models that break this design is metal and it is built to withstand the powerful wind in which it does not shake. Once again I cant believe a fan like this can put out so much wind. If you are looking for a fan that can disperse incredible wind and noise is not an issue for you then this fan is for you. Thanks to all the ones who reviewed this product before me as it really helped me decide to purchase this one. UPDATE: I purchased this in March it is now almost December, still blowing strong. Some days I wish it had 1 more lower level selection because it does give out a lot of wind even on the lowest selection . UPDATE: 2 YEAR AND 5 MONTHS of use and still going strong. Most days this fan has been on for an average of 16 hours. TIP: Make sure to clean this every once and a while. Make sure to unplug it, remove the cover and clean the fan blades, the back of the fan grill and front. Dust collects on this and by cleaning it, it will make a world of difference on the wind output.
