It was just ok

My 9yo daughters birthday gift. Fantastic set. A challenge to build but nothing that she couldnt figure out. Great detail and fun in this set. A good number of figures and accessories add to the fun. It combines with the whomping willow set to make the compete hogwarts castle and she is looking forward to completing the set!

It’s fantastic. It even has you building the best part last, and then you get an incredibly satisfying “mmm... worth it” feeling. And the Lego Hagrid is a big plus.

Roughly a 4 1/2 hour build, with all parts included (along with a few extra). Didnt run across any problems other than an openable treasure chest that wont open due to the suggested placement being too close to the wall behind the chest (easy fix by moving the chest forward). The overall look is an excellent reproduction that incorporates stairs that move, a wide variety of configurable figures, and banners that can be swung around to any two of the four desired House banners. Suggested age range is appropriate for build difficulty, and the fully illustrated construction manual is easy to follow each step of the way.

Purchased this as Christmas gift for grandson. Won’t know if it’s all it appears until then.
