> 24 hourAs the pandemic hit - I wanted to upgrade my work from home space and built a new computer, complete with a 3080 and 3900x. I tried the AW34DW20, Lg34gp83a, and the Acer zx342ck and decided upon the Lg34gp83a. The IPS panel, refresh rate, Displayport and HDMI all are pluses. The main thing I despise is the lack of white balance uniformity from these panels. I believe the AW34DW20 shares the same issue as the panel is the same, however I went through FOUR Lg34gp83as before tolerating the one I have. Its a constant dice roll of dead pixels, silhouetting, back light bleed, IPS glow, or white balance uniformity. Each of them had some sort of white balance uniformity issue (cooler right side vs warmer left side or a cool streak across the bottom and top of the screen with the rest warm). The one I ended up with had a slight cool streak on the right quadrant of the screen - which isnt great, but wasnt willing to roll the dice again as everything else checked out. I did read stories that LGs customer service sucks, but Im willing to take a gamble with this one. The AW34DW20 and customer service from Dell, should be better, but Ive also read stories that their terrible as well. I also think that the negative accounts you read online are more of the exception vs the norm.

Dear MR.J
> 24 hourI have been buying multiple LG monitors and one is no longer working after 8 years. This UltraGear QHD 34 Curved monitor is just what I needed for gaming and working. I love the fact that it has a great price point and it is CURVED! More importantly, it is wide and able to generate 160HZ refresh rate with (3440X1440X with a 21:9 ratio.) I do find the screen somewhat whiter than other monitors that I have. I do find the stand design very stupid, it is taking up too much desk space.

> 24 hourPerfect curved gaming monitor. Good price for the resolution and quality. The movable stand is so convenient. I hook up my ps5 Nintendo switch and Alienware and play tons of games and have to say the graphics are awesome.

> 24 hourMonitor width is complemented by the curvature which provides a wraparound viewing in 3D fashion.

> 24 hourFor the price of around $300, this was the most feature-packed monitor I could find. Decently high resolution with a high refresh rate, built-in speakers, FreeSync and an adjustable stand. My only complaint so far is that there is quite a bit of ghosting/color bleed when pixels change from dark to bright colors. I believe this is due to the VA panel. After a few days of use Ive gotten used to it, but it does make games with darker environments a little hard to play.

> 24 hour**Update after 6 weeks**: I am docking two stars, mostly because they never sent the missing cable (despite spending an hour dealing with customer support to get it ordered)... but also because the OSD software is super klunky/slow. This is still a really good monitor, but if I were to do it again Id probably spend the extra for the 950G variant. --- Works amazingly well, especially after a few minutes of the usual new monitor adjusting/configuring. Yes there are more expensive models out there, but I did a ton of research and feel like this hits the sweet spot for value/performance. - Mine arrived with no dead pixels, and the backlight bleed is minimal - mostly just in the lower right corner. (I hardly notice it, and only in really dark backgrounds.) - The curve on this is more subtle vs the Samsung gaming monitors, and I prefer this since I also use this monitor for work/office stuff too. - Colors look great, no matter what Im doing... gaming, working, movies. - Ive seen no ghosting/halo-ing or other weirdness during gaming. Response times are fantastic, and G-sync compatibility works perfectly in my experiences so far. (Im driving everything with a 3080 12Gb, so YMMV haha) - Games that support 21:9 look amazing! (And those that dont just have black bars on the side, and its no big deal at all.) - Watching movies shot in 21:9 is an incredible experience, especially with the slight curve! Combined with my studio monitors and a subwoofer, Ive suddenly got myself a great personal theater at my desk. Only a couple cons: - Mine was shipped without the USB-B to USB-A uplink cable, which is needed to make use of the monitors USB ports, update the OSD software, etc. (But they are sending me one now, so Im not docking the stars rating.) - The build quality feels kind of cheap, and everything is just basic black plastic. Neither pro/con: - I didnt use the included monitor stand, as I mounted mine on a VESA arm right out of the box. I will say it feels heavy/solid, though - but its also really ugly. (It looks like a boomerang made by Klingons, haha.)
