> 3 dayNote: This review is being written after roughly one month of ownership. After doing months of research, I had originally set my heart on LGs excellently reviewed LG 34GN850. However, it had been selling out before I could get my order in and the monitors original sale price had increased, much to my dismay. I was surprised and more than a bit skeptical then when reports that LG had a model releasing in its UltraGear line with virtually identical specs to the 34GN850 but at a lower initial price of $800 (including an extra $50 off MSRP). Seriously, nobody could get a straight answer about the differences except the aesthetics. Nevertheless, I took the shot-- fully expecting to return the model when some unknown defect appeared. With over a month of this thing hanging above my desk, Im happy to report this is the real deal! Pros: - Indistinguishable performance to the LG 34GN850-b, an already excellently reviewed monitor - Cheaper than the LG 34GN850-b ($850 vs $1000 MSRP) - Extremely fast response (even amongst other IPS panels) leading to excellent motion clarity - Excellent color reproduction over DCI-P3 with an acceptable sRGB clamp Cons: - LGs in-house warranty is less than stellar (much prefer a more robust option like the ones offered by Dell) - Typical IPS issues: low contrast, more expensive than VA panels, etc. For a much more comprehensive review of the sister model, Id recommend checking out HardwareUnboxed on Youtube. Overall, daily use of this monitor has blown me away. One big note for users with older GPUs: make 100% sure that chroma subsampling is *disabled* because it will make text virtually unreadable. The full suite of 144hz+1440p+wide gamut requires DisplayPort 1.4 (or equivalent). Its much better to reduce the color spectrum and/or refresh rate rather than use chroma subsampling.

> 3 dayAll is good so far but..... the product should include a 3.0 USB cable since it is the only way to use the USB ports on the back of the monitor. HDMI maybe as well so do not expect either one to be in the book. There is a generic DP cable that I assume is 1.4 compliant but I bought my own DP 1.4 to be sure.

> 3 dayIm super happy with this monitor! I work in VFX and motion graphics, and I was looking for something I could use for work as well as gaming. Most of the options I was looking at were $1500+. I had to compromise a little on color, HDR, and resolution, but this is a HUGE night and day difference between my two old 27 1080s from 2014. I was using smaller I think 22 4K monitors in class, and it was difficult to see the UI in my software sometimes. Im kinda blind, so the pixel to inch ratio on this monitor is perfect for me. Everything worked right out of the box -- comes with a display port cable, did a dead pixel test and there were none. I dont play anything super intensive, lately just Persona 5 Strikers or Destiny 2, and everything has been running great on my gtx 1070. Im looking forward to upgrading my gpu now that I have a nice monitor! Most games do not seem to support ultrawide, so if black bars on the side bother you, than this monitor isnt for you. I barely notice them when Im playing games. Also, Netflix wont display at full resolution in Chrome; apparently you need to use the Windows store app or Microsoft Edge. None of this is marks against the monitor, just a note. The monitor has a pretty big stand, so if youre not mounting it, make sure you have enough room on your desk. I currently have a 27 monitor, this 34 monitor, my ps4, and my PC all on my desk and its a very tight squeeze, and my mousepad that runs along my desk slightly overlaps the feet. With such a large base, itd be pretty much impossible to use a monitor stand with it, but thankfully it already sits pretty tall and can be adjusted even taller still as it slides up and down. I think this is one of the best bang-for-your-buck ultrawide monitors out at the moment and Im very happy with my purchase!

Greater than one weekContrast and vibrancy is not as good as dell ultrasharp. However it still looks really nice and the price is unbeatable. The height adjustment works out well. I paired it will my 27 inch monitor and they are the same height

> 3 dayWell packaged, took it out of the box and plugged it in. Setting up the stand is super easy, no tools needed. Comes with a next gen DP cable (good for you LG). Ran a dead pixel check via lcdtech and had zero. No backlight issues or edge issues. Loaded up, turned G-sync on via the Nvidia control panel, started up ff14 and got that setup. Running at roughly 110-130hz with a 2080TI. G-sync is working flawlessly. Compatible, might as well be native. Not even a 1 frame hiccup. When I say flawless, I mean flawless. Picture/colors is incredible, glad I went with the IPS panel. Will NEVER go back to gaming in 16:9 @60hz without curve. The curve, the ultra wide panel and the 144hz create a whole new experience. The jump reminds me when I went from a mechanical HDD to an M.2. Just unbelievable difference. My wife thought shed hate the curve/UW and I made her sit down and play with it for a bit. She is now trying to get me to spend another $700 lol. Just try it if youre on the fence. Youll never go back.

> 3 dayI have now owned both Samsung and LG and I will be honest. Samsung beats LG in the display quality but LG beats Samsung everywhere else. The display quality is not enough to prefer the Samsung over the LG when it comes to other features...This monitor is significantly easier to manager when mounting on a wall or placing on a desk. The LGs OSD is great as well. Navigating is a breeze and unlike the Samsung the LG will switch between active displays without input....I still cannot believe Samsung has this problem...Which was the primary reason I switched to the LG. Working from home and wanting to switch to gaming is a breeze.

Greater than one weekThe only complaint I have is that I wish there were an easier way to turn down the intensity of the monitor light easily by just tapping a button on the monitor.

> 3 dayDisplay is crisp and clean, and can push 160hz when in overclock mode. Not only is it great for games and movies, but also for productivity. The only issue I have with it is the monitors joystick control to change sources and settings. The up input no longer works. I can still access every setting, but in order for me to go back up in the settings list, I have to keep pressing down to eventually loop back to it. Very annoying, but technically it still works. Cant return the device or RMA it since I already threw away the box, and I dont think itll be easy shipping this 34 inch curved monitor without custom styrofoam bracing (like the one that came with its packaging). So if you can, dont throw away the box.

> 3 dayLet me preface this by saying that I was super worried by this monitor because it would flicker black every 5 seconds. I really didnt want to return it because it had perfect uniformity and no dead pixels. After doing some troubleshooting such as reseating my gpu, the flickering went down to about every 5 minutes. This was both from HDMI and DP ports at all refresh rates. After further research I decided to purchase a new DP cable since many say the included one isnt very good. After using the new cable I havent had any flickering for the entire day. LG should really have better QC on their cables because this could be causing others to RMA the entire monitor possibly due to the cable. The monitor itself has gorgeous colors but only in SDR, the HDR makes it worse and if you have a dark environment your blacks will be muddied and grey. All in all I dont think I can go back to anything else but ultradwide now. The extra width makes it so much more immersive and glad that so many games support it. Its a bigger difference than 4K for PC gaming.

Greater than one weekI bought this to replace the ultra wide Dell monitor my ex-girlfriend took with her in our recent break up. And unlike my ex-girlfriend, this monitor compliments me. Im not using this for gaming, but I do process RAW photo files and work the most of my day in Microsoft products. For photo editing I think the colors are great, much better than the cheaper Dell my ex had. Before, I needed to use my laptop screen for more true color management, but moving images from my 4K laptop screen to this LG is pretty solid. This monitor can sit high which makes it easy to have it placed behind my laptop screen and sit above it without the need of another stand. It easily tilts and maintains whatever position you put it in. The stand is pretty big so I recommend a deep desk if you plan on using the one that comes with the monitor. To control the monitor, it has a single nub in the middle of the bottom part of the screen and it works pretty well to pop through the settings. Potential issue that was resolved: I use a Dell XPS 15 and at first this monitor wouldnt work properly with my resolution settings. The monitor thought I was outputting at 3840 x 2160 even though I had it set at 3440 x 1440, so it was sandwiching the display with black bars on the top and bottom. After almost tearing my hair out, I found a person online who gave instructions on how to resolve the issue. Display Settings>Select Monitor>Advanced Display Settings>Display Adapter properties for Display 2>List All Modes>3440 by 1440 I had to try a couple different ones before I got the 50 hertz to work properly with the screen. I also posted a picture of the menu I had to get to fix the issue. All in all, I am happy with this purchase and recommend for people who might be thinking of a budget ultrawide for work and photography.
