> 3 dayJust like you, I was afraid, $800 isnt cheap for me. Some people in the reviews here seem upset specially about dead pixels, but I ended up going with this one monitor (lg 34gp83a-b) because of all the good specs it has on paper. After more than a month of usage I can tell you that Im in love with it. I spend hours daily working with it and its not exhausting at all. The higher refresh rate, curved screen, pixel density and excellent colors make it very comfortable to work with, plus now I have a ton of screen space from which I can just click and drag stuff everywhere, it makes work fun. I didnt go with the Gigabyte M34WQ because I fell in love with curved monitors (later on that monitor reviews I read people complaining on it being exhausting to work on after a while because of the flat screen but I suppose that is a matter of personal taste. I didnt go with the Asus VG34VQL1B because on some reviews I read people complaining about the color smearing which honestly I dont think you would notice unless you were a monitor sommelier. One thing you should know before buying it is that you need a displayport capable computer (make sure your computer and the gpu supports displayport) it has an hdmi port but it is limited to 85hz. Other than that, this is the best monitor right now in its segment. Hope this helps!

> 3 dayFor the price of around $300, this was the most feature-packed monitor I could find. Decently high resolution with a high refresh rate, built-in speakers, FreeSync and an adjustable stand. My only complaint so far is that there is quite a bit of ghosting/color bleed when pixels change from dark to bright colors. I believe this is due to the VA panel. After a few days of use Ive gotten used to it, but it does make games with darker environments a little hard to play.

> 3 dayI’m giving this monitor 4 stars instead of the 5 because it is advertised to run higher refresh rates at 1440p when this is not true when playing on the PS5. I’m sure it runs great on a PC and of course the PS5 is no PC, but there wasn’t anything clear about this issue in the specs when doing my research. I only found out after a very disappointing unboxing and several attempts to figure it out. So if you are on PS5 and looking for that new 120hz capability, look elsewhere. This monitor is not going to cut it.

Greater than one week2k Resolution with curvy goodness and a little bit of love, this monitor brings out the immersion with its encapsulating curved monitor, it really does change the way you see your games, almost like a movie screen. Id recommend, though if you want duel or even triple monitor setup, youll need a beefy monitor mount arm, the default stand can be limiting, especially with how far out the stand sticks out to counter balance. Mostly the front legs would get in the way of keyboard placement, depending on how close you want the monitor, I have bad eyesight which compelled me to get a monitor arm. This products shipping was kinda up in the air, I was only told vaguely between three days thatd Id receive it, but it got delayed an extra five days but came one day after the original expected date. Besides that weirdness, would recommend!

> 3 dayThese screens are great, but like all products, they have a limited lifespan. Get the extended warranty so you can enjoy your monitor a lot longer! 12/2020 - 10/2022

Greater than one weekThis was an upgrade to my Viotek GNV34DBE ultrawide monitor. The performance to this monitor is very similar to the slightly more expensive 34GN850-B. One thing is that you do not get a USB uplink cable in the box; just the Displayport and power adapter. My monitor has one stuck pixel on the upper left which I cannot RMA because LG is stingy with how many stuck/dead pixels must be on the display to warrant a RMA. Picture quality is pretty good as it is an IPS. But because it is an IPS, especially a Nano IPS, it lacks contrast VA panels typically have. Its noticeable in dark environments such as night time, but I dont notice it that much during the day and I can live with it as I expect IPS displays to not have great contrast. The brightness this monitor can display is good enough for the most part, except in direct sunlight (but your mileage may vary). One thing for sure is the lack of black level smearing and inverse ghosting, which means more clear picture when in motion while playing video games. The 160 HZ option is nice to have, but not that amazing if youre coming from a 144 Hz montior. The inputs are ok, 2 HDMI 2.0 and 1 Displayport 1.4 (not 1.2 as I have found some people have said). Stick to Displayport please, as it is the only input that can support 144 hz and 160 hz. I have mounted this monitor with a monitor arm, so I got nothing to say about the stand. At the end of the day, this monitor is very good and is will be good enough until mid range GPUs can support 3440 x 1440 160 hz at max details, or until the warranty runs out and the monitor spontaneously dies.

> 3 dayPros: - 144Hz is smooth. I came from using a 60Hz monitor before this and the higher refresh rate is a night and day difference. It even has an option to overclock the monitor to 160Hz in the settings. - I do not work expertly with colors, but my amateur opinion is that the colors look great. I was using an LG IPS prior to this but these colors are even better. - Having Freesync/Gsync going down to 48hz is nice, especially at this high resolution where you may not be able to pushing games consistently at 60fps depending on your hardware. - It reportedly uses the same panel as the 34GN850-B, which is being sold for $200 more. I did a bit of research before purchasing and found no meaningful difference between the two, so this is certainly a better deal. - The curve is not too aggressive. I do not like curved panels for the sake of being curved, but I feel at this aspect ratio and size, this amount of curvature feels right and is appreciated. Cons: - If you use a multi-monitor setup, you will encounter issues with Deep Sleep. Upon waking your computer after it has been idle, all your windows will re-arrange themselves as if the 34GP83A-B had been unplugged momentarily. LG support has so far not been helpful on this. Some quick online research shows other users experience this same issue, even on other LG UltraGear models. As of 12/5/2020, LG has not fixed this issue. (This can be very annoying, and I would have given this monitor 5 stars if not for this) - Do not expect HDR to look great on this monitor. HDR400 certification is not enough for an enjoyable HDR experience so if that is a requirement, you should look elsewhere. Other Notes: - I do sometimes connect my 2019 MacBook Pro to this monitor via HDMI using the official Apple dongle. It outputs the full native resolution, but only at 50hz. It would have been nice to at least have 60hz. Unfortunately, I am not sure if if this is a limitation of my HDMI cables. - No comments on the included stand since I am using my own VESA mount.

> 3 dayWell packaged, took it out of the box and plugged it in. Setting up the stand is super easy, no tools needed. Comes with a next gen DP cable (good for you LG). Ran a dead pixel check via lcdtech and had zero. No backlight issues or edge issues. Loaded up, turned G-sync on via the Nvidia control panel, started up ff14 and got that setup. Running at roughly 110-130hz with a 2080TI. G-sync is working flawlessly. Compatible, might as well be native. Not even a 1 frame hiccup. When I say flawless, I mean flawless. Picture/colors is incredible, glad I went with the IPS panel. Will NEVER go back to gaming in 16:9 @60hz without curve. The curve, the ultra wide panel and the 144hz create a whole new experience. The jump reminds me when I went from a mechanical HDD to an M.2. Just unbelievable difference. My wife thought shed hate the curve/UW and I made her sit down and play with it for a bit. She is now trying to get me to spend another $700 lol. Just try it if youre on the fence. Youll never go back.

> 3 dayFor what im going for, this does everything i could want and more. Imo, this monitor has the best frame rate, response time, and image quality for a consumer. Most hardware cant push this many pixels in aaa games to 144fps let alone above, and it also has great color recreation, with over 95%dci-p3 coverage. Its not the brightest screen by any means, so if youre going to be exposed to a lot of direct sunlight, or an extremely bright office consuming media this could cause issues. I can get the cursor to ghost if i flick the mouse fast enough over a dark background, but it doesnt do that with anything else. I turn off motion blur in games because it doesnt ghost the images at all. High frame rate and low response time improved my accuracy significantly. Its not fast enough for actual exports but the esports monitors dont have this color accuracy, which makes long sessions really comfortable. The ultrawide with a slight curve works well, it fills your field of view and is almost like VR. For writing essays, this works well, too. I like to have multiple webpages open at a time and this is almost like having 2 monitors, to work with that are always in alignment. because its curved, you can still comfortably read text at the corners of the ultrawide screen. For the price, this thing is best in class for consumer gaming if you like color accuracy/hdr in your media in the 700$ or less price bracket 2021. No dead pixels, after about 3 and a half months. Will edit if things change.
