If youre in doubt at all, check out the review of this screen on RTings. I have two monitors set up, and moving things around on this screen vs. the other is absolutely night and day. LG really nailed it with the LCD pixel color transition math. Many good screens will still show a lot of blur when moving e.g. a window with sharp edges between dark grey and darker grey, but this screen stays super sharp on those same edges. If you like retro-style games with things moving fast in 2D fields, especially emulators playing games that were designed for zero-blur CRT televisions, thats a feature to go for. It turns on quickly, times out to sleep when the DisplayPort source goes to sleep, and you can set it so it has minimal light when in standby. The stand does not swivel, but you can put the screen on top of something like a piece of scrap plywood or posterboard (so the rubber feet dont grip) and that will spin. Honestly though, what you really want to do at this price point is get an articulating desk mount arm and VESA mount the screen. Theres a bit of a reflectivity issue. This screen is a concave reflector lens, with a focal length of about your usual sitting distance. Which sounds great, but it does mean if theres anything bright behind you, or visible reflected in a mirror behind you, this screen has just enough reflectivity that it will sometimes focus a dim blurry image of the light source that fills the entire screen. Ive never had that in a monitor before, not even my previous Asus ROG screen that was the same size and curvature. All navigation is done with a single joystick control, including turning the screen off. (Which does make it a bit difficult to turn the screen off, but I almost never want to do that. It goes to sleep automatically when the attached computer shuts down.) Whats good about the joystick control vs. other brands, is its centrally located right behind a visual feature that makes it really easy to find by touch, and it is FULLY RECESSED. Im glad I bought this screen, but the only reason I had to drop the significant cost is my previous monitor did not have that joystick recessed, and it got broken off while moving the screen around, rendering the still-functioning monitor useless because the menu could no longer be accessed. This joystick is in a place that will not do that! I dont find the menus very intuitive, they are over-stylized and changed navigation paradigms just to be different. Imagine someone took a good Wustoff kitchen knife set, then went to Toys R Us and glued a bunch of plastic toy sword handles on top of the original handles, and fit the knife set back into a bunch of belt and backstrap holsters on a 2-foot tall plastic ninja robot. Thats what using the menu is like on LG gaming screens now. OK, it might appear to people under 12, but all youve done is make everything harder to find, slower to get at, and clunky to use. I wish they would stop it, but hey you dont have to get in the menu very often, so its still a 5-star screen.

Contrast and vibrancy is not as good as dell ultrasharp. However it still looks really nice and the price is unbeatable. The height adjustment works out well. I paired it will my 27 inch monitor and they are the same height

Overall a fantastic monitor for the purchase price of $800. I see the price fluctuating pretty frequently, so how much it costs you may be different. Pros: - 160hz for an ultrawide is excellent. - Works great with gsync. - Color quality is great. - Works great over HDMI and DisplayPort with windows. - Low motion blur. - No noticeable input lag. - The HDR color depth is awesome. Just disable the local dimming or it can get annoying. - Decent backlight bleed and IPS glow for an IPS panel. Definitely less bleed than the other 3 IPS panels that Ive owned, and the backlight bleed is fairly evenly distributed. Neutral: - Managing an OSD (on screen display) with just the nipple is passable. As I switch inputs pretty often, my Alienware monitor let me set up a shortcut to double tap a dedicated button on the monitor to switch between HDMI and Displayport. This monitor requires you to always navigate the OSD menus (even though it doesnt take too much to switch inputs). - The curve is subtle and is just fine. No complaints, nothing great about it either. Cons: - Does not work properly at 160hz at full resolution (1440p ultrawide) when connected to my Macbook over HDMI. The Macbook will only allow 50hz, meaning everything feels choppy. Its a borderline-acceptable framerate for text-only workflows or just browsing the web. - Overall build quality is just good, which kinda sucks for an $800+ monitor. The plastic on the back feel flimsy. - Local dimming is TERRIBLE. I highly recommend disabling local dimming but enabling HDR for the extra color depth. Conslusion: An excellent monitor for productivity and gaming, with just a couple minor gripes that prevent it from being perfect IMO.

    Greater than one week

I read a lot of reviews and a lot of people said the bottom row of pixels are dead. Theyre not. Move your head down to eye level at that row. Theyre there. The issue is the viewing angles on this monitor. But theyre there. You can still see it at a normal seated level but its dim. Either way, I prefer this to my previous Samsung Odyssey gaming monitor. I have observed 0 pixel smear. I truly believe the Samsung brand upcharge is purely so they can market an inferior product.

I have been buying multiple LG monitors and one is no longer working after 8 years. This UltraGear QHD 34 Curved monitor is just what I needed for gaming and working. I love the fact that it has a great price point and it is CURVED! More importantly, it is wide and able to generate 160HZ refresh rate with (3440X1440X with a 21:9 ratio.) I do find the screen somewhat whiter than other monitors that I have. I do find the stand design very stupid, it is taking up too much desk space.

Its now been a couple weeks and I really love this monitor. I upgraded from a 4k, 27, 60hz display for better gaming AND productivity. My biggest concern was the dpi drop from 4k, and at 100% scaling, some of the smaller text looked a little jagged and uncomfortable to read.. After bumping scaling to 120% though, I am unable to perceive the difference in text between 4k and this display, which came as a shock as Im used to very fine fonts from various macbook pros and phones. Ultrawide feels like a real upgrade from a standard 27, and Im really glad I went that way instead of 2 monitors. Great for coding, and for having 2 to 3 windows open at the same time. Also super happy with it for gaming related stuff. I play competitive fps (csgo mostly, bit of apex, overwatch, valorant) and was worried that this wouldnt be the way to go but man what an upgrade over a 60hz display. 144hz feels like night and day and theres no going back. Havent tested the overclock yet but since it decreases color quality and that 144 feels plenty for how I play, I might not bother with it. Interestingly enough, I dont find the ultrawide to add anything for most games Ive tested. Sure its nice but I dont find games particularly more immersive the way many reviewers experience. Overall, really great product. Its simple, doesnt have any bells and whistles (like pbp/pip, LED and such), but it delivers on its promises. Scored this one for $600 and it really feels worth it.

Picture is a huge upgrade over 1920 /1080p , ultra wide 34inch is huge for pc gaming, no dead pixels! For $300 this is a must buy!

The monitor specs are quite clear and fortunately there are many good YouTube videos unboxing and demonstrating what its capable of doing so I dont speak about them. I didnt purchase this monitor for gaming even though I did played some high FPS and HDR games on it just to test it out. It does exactly what it says and thats why I gave it five stars. The HDR capabilities are quite bold and practical. It works perfectly with windows 11 while the display is set to always HDR. The refresh rate works like a charm and the picture quality is close to fantastic which is why I use it (video editing & designing). The contrast is that high that it really bothers my eyes if I lock at the white screen display even though its only a HDR 400 certified. If you use the monitor to watch HDR streaming contract, be happy that HDR would be automatically picked by the streamers as the default. I bought a VESA desk mount but I didnt see any use for that because the monitor has a very practical and pretty stand. For the settings out of the box, you might need to spend some time to get the monitor screen and other functionalities based on your preferences but its super initiative and easy with user friendly menus adjustable by one single small joystick located at the back side of the screen. This monitor is not the best of its class but for the price and such quality, its definitely worth buying even more so if you happen to buy it while its discounted (as I did, thx to Amazon). Delivery of the monitor was nice and fast as usual (someone knocked the door and handed to me after singneture). I havent checked the color accuracy because I was super happy with the outcome I set it up and compare to my reference monitor at work (Benq), the picture quality is superb (the Benq is a 4K monitor and almost two times more expensive). Would I recommend this monitor? Definitely yes, if you can afford it.
