Great for beginners

This is all around just a good budget friendly gesso for those just getting into painting! I recommend adding a dot of your favorite starting color while priming your canvas to break up the white. Goes and smoothly and should last me a good while!

This arrived Very fast without defects or damage as promised. It came boxed with a shrink wrap seal to avoid spills and a safety seal under the squeeze top lid that is great for dispensing this medium. Making it very user friendly for both beginners and pros. This preformed excellent as Liquitex brand is well known for. Spreads smooth as silk with excellent coverage. Good price point too, 5 stars.

It’s a pretty good gesso. I use a mix-media pad and this gesso, although I’m sure there are better, works pretty good for me. I am just starting out with painting and I have been recommended this brand and for beginners, I’d say it’s pretty good. I put two layers; The first layer I lay down is with brush strokes going side to side, and the other layer with brush strokes going up and down. The paint looks brighter and more vibrant when I prime the mix-media pad with it

Im a beginner crafter and found this product very easy to use. Feels like spreading a regular school glue.

As expected.

This works great as a primer for my paintings! Ive used it on a piece of styrofoam that we use to insulate our fireplace, I painted a fire scene on it and it made for an excellent base! I also use this on cheaper canvases that tend to soak in more paint, thus taking much more time to paint on and it really makes a difference. I found that using a sponge works the best to apply it, I just wet the sponge and dab into the gesso and apply and it goes on very nicely!

A little disappointed in this. It is VERY transparent, and does not build up very well to make a solid white base coat. Im disappointed because Ive heard such great things about liquitex, and this just does not hold up to the hype. I will be trying a different gesso when this runs out.
